  • great singer, what happened to her now still no new songs from her?

  • She is simply incredible...

  • @ChorusArtists that she is,,,

  • Saw Amanda perform live Twice in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. In support of her first album.

I have never seen her equal as a live performer! Absolutely amazing. Her recorded album was tame and sedate compared to her live voice... Just belting out... Talk about POWER!!!

    And that HAIR!!!

I'm still in love with her!

  • Amanda is amazing - loved her music for years. Would love to see her live.

  • Me and my wife saw her in concert. While I really didn't want to go, I am glad I did because I was blown away. She has an amazing voice and is such a great performer.

  • LOVE YOU AMANDA!! You are the BOMB !!!

  • I found Amanda Marshall looking for songs with my first name "Colleen". WOW! What A great Find!!!! It seems like everything I watch by her is great!

  • I found Amanda Marshall looking for songs with my first name "Colleen". WOW! What A great Find!!!!

  • man I ve been watching this beauty for years and everytime I see her I just fall deeper and deeper oy

  • Where have I been all these years? Great artist, great song, great band, and inspired performance.

  • hope she comes back soon.

  • Wow, I like that better than the original version.

  • I just love her hair!

  • Just saw Amanda this weekend at Casino Rama! She just keeps getting better. Apparently she's been embroiled in a law suit with the management she fired in 2002 (& recording label). The lawsuit is on-going & whenever everything is settled she will be back. She's compiled a great deal of new material in the last 8 years & has been working in the studio. I get the impression we won't have to wait too much longer.

  • That was the JAAAAAM!!!!

  • I'm waiting for your new album Amanda!!!!!

  • I guess it's a fine liine between an artist doing what the heck she wants and giving the fans what they want.. For me, I was a big disappointment when she stopped recording and only performed limited concerts. Thank goodness for YouTube.

  • I've loved her since first hearing her on the "My Best Friend's Wedding" soundtrack. SUPERB voice, awesome lyrics, great performer. AMANDA - more songs, please, pretty please!!

  • Look forward to buying anything Amanda may be recording and releasing in the future. Always been a fan of her soulful voice.

  • I've always believed you're an enormous talent Amanda, from the first time I saw you on telly in Australia in the 90's. Just don't sell out to Diva or Glam culture. You're pure treasure just the way you are!

  • one of the best . Plain and simple

  • In may 2009 she announced she was in the studio recording a new album set for a 2010 release. Itll be her first album ( other than the 3 greatest hits albums) since 2001. Thats a longgggg time off.

  • @turfturbo that would be very exciting. I've loved her for years and also have wondered why she isn't more recognised. However, I reckon it's all in the timing. I reckon she's been observing the trend for the ridiculous and just letting all the pop-tarts like Gaga their time to burn out or become oversaturated. You can't make a light shine on you, when there is too much distraction in the room. And even if she does prefer to be low on the radar, all the better. There is no substance in hype.

  • saw her live. tiny little girl. biggest , best voice i ever heard live. american idol chicks are a joke live next to her. no justice in the world as to who gets famous i guess.

  • I remember Elton John mentioned her on the tonight show years back, why didn't she go any further ? She's a fantastic singer/performer/artist ?

  • Comment removed

  • what ever happened to her,...she doesn't perform live anymore?

  • Many thanks to the poster here, but it sure would've been ultimately cool to get the last ten seconds of so of this performance. Amanda really rocks it out here, and takes it to the nth degree squared. This woman is amazing, and then some!

  • I love Amanda Marshall. She's got this great empowering aura to her. I don't know why she isn't bigger than she is... i've loved her for 10 years and would gladly play guitar for her.

  • This Song was a Top 20 Hit on Adult Radio and it almost broke the Top 40 on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart, but it did on Radio and Records and plus, this song is so cool and so smooth, I use to listen to this song when I was in High School and boy do I remember it very well b/c I use to listen to this song on Casey's Top 40 with Casey Kasem and thanks to Casey's Top 40, I'm glad that I can relive this moment and this is what I call REAL Music, not some of the Pop Music Today with no meanings.

  • Where has Amanda Marshall been the past 5 years!! I just loved her back in 95.... and I see this..and I just love her more than ever... I want to see her live!

  • I think the key to her popularity is not just that she's extremely talented at writing and performing and not to mention not so hard to look at but it's also the angle she takes on her music. This song could have been a sad song about domestic abuse but she took the positive angle and spun it around to inspire others to make changes and take chances when others try to hold you down. Brilliant!!! And she does it with damn near every song! Positivity that's what she's about.

  • What a sassy little shit! I've never seen a vid of her performances. Holy shit I'm a bigger fan than ever now!

  • She puts todays singers to shame! I saw her live in TO. Fantastic artist!

  • I saw her live in a Phoenix club Jets and Sticks with just her a guitarist and a keyboardist.... They were all sitting on stools...

She put on one of the best live performances from that stool than I've seen, and I've seen multitudes of live bands.

  • Very nice.

  • An astounding voice!

Looking with my tech glasses on, this

    performance is beyond outstanding.

    I'm guessing she's singing into a Shure

    Beta58A .

Most of us, stepping four inches away from that animal, would stand a better chance being heard next monday than being heard by the audience right now. She's still picked up, off center to the mike. Look at 5.33 in the video!

Also, at 5.56 she really comes through.

Despite fighting (my guess) at least 4:1 compression ratio. World class FOH work!

  • A real artist! Love her!

  • My favorite all time female singer ...Class with a capital C ! ...discovered her by accident about 10 years ago...loved her ever since.

  • Discovered her just five weeks ago.

Also by accident. She is really great.

    dunksyk, check out Jaime Kyle.

Another female singer that I think you

    might like. Greetings!

  • I had a listen ...great !

A singer you might like (if you have not heard her) is Patty Smyth...she used to sing in a band called Scandal ,has one solo album...and is now married to John McEnroe ...cheers Dunk

  • Great singer, didn't know about her.

Thank you for the pointer Dunk.

Have you heard Leigh Matty? She fronted Romeo's Daughter. Another great singer!

Leigh is married to Merv Goldsworthy, FM bass player. (Both bands was from UK).

  • Hi, Yes got both Romeo's Daughter albums (love the first one...mutt langs production) ...met Merv a couple of times, used to play in a band and the singer was good friends with him. Coincidentially I played in a band called "pride" ...the manager Dave King produced the first FM record and managed them for a while !

Are you on facebook or myspace...if so look me up and put me down as a friend ...my name is Duncan Sykora ( not many of of those !) ...cheers Dunk

  • Like the President of the United States, Amanda is bi-racial. I didn't know that till just the other day. She is gorgeous.

    And yes, great voice!

  • What is funny when she sings live, she always takes part of other songs to extend her own.

And every time she performs live, their songs are different. She doesn't perform one song exactly the same twice.

  • Thx Amanda!

  • Phenomenal tonal quality in a live performance!

  • awesome, wish i was there

  • dang that girl got a voice!

  • love that hair!

  • She has talent to spare.A great artist.

  • Amanda is surely a star! However, whoever convinced her to compete in today's R&B league in her third record, totally destroyed her career...I am faithful she will come back once more with new rockier material, though

  • LOVED her third album. Been a fan since the first.

  • This gives me chills. I love her energy.

  • I think this concert she did open for Nelley hence the semi tune...I'm like a bird...

  • Nope, she was just giving a nod to her Canadian counter part at the time. It was HER tour, I was there :D

  • Who does not dig this girl? Soulful and

sincere...we need more of Amanda...is she touring..she would be a great opener for many!

  • You gotta love that she's doin Nelly furtardo near the end of this song....I'm like a bird, don't know where my soul is...

    love ya girl....you go

  • a little bit of beonce

  • I had a chance to see her warm up for Tears for Fears right after her first album was released. I will never forget her amazing performance. Her talent is such a gift. Very grateful she has shared it with us. I think she is not finished giving.

  • I saw her perform in Vancouver about three weeks ago. She was very apologetic about being off the radar, but it was quite clear she had not lost her touch. It was a terrific performance, I had a front row seat .One thing that I did notice about her is that she doesn't make a lot of eye contact with her audience. I think that she is probably a very shy person and is not comfortable with the adulation.Who can blame her with all the shit they drag people through in the media.

  • To me I was upset for years because I just thin she has something that female singers would kill for. It's that voice. It's my guess and it's only a guess that she is doing what she wants and is off the radar not because no record company wants her, but beacuse she likes being off the radar. She told the people at one of her concerts that she doesn't have a my space page and likes laying low. Amanda just come back and DO ONE MORE RECORD, JUST ONE MORE? Please!!!!!

  • She is AMAZING! She isn't under the radar; she has set the bar so high...she is ABOVE the radar!

  • For all the talent that Amanda has her cds have not sold well here, she sells better in Canada. After her third release her record company dropped her and why she hasn't had another record company sign her IS THE BIGGEST MYSTERY EVER. She does acouple of gigs a year, but with all this talent she has pretty much fallen off the face of the earth. It's sad and the only answer is may be she likes it like it is. WHAT A WASTE OF PURE TALENT. PEACE, AMANDA I LOVE YOU AND STILL HOPE.

  • She rocks! Let's support her talent and let her know we love her!

  • Damn!!, I was like 6 or 7 years old wen this song was out, LOVE IT!!. yeah and ironic by Alannis is another classic too.

  • wow ..you're a young one lol ...I was 12 when this song came out

  • I seen her do this live and I got the biggest goosebumps I've ever had during any performance...her voice is indesribeable.(sic)..

I was in my late 30's....if you were 12........

damn you missed a great performance....one not likely to be repeated.

  • this, and Ironic are two of the songs that used to play in my head in class in High School in 1996. :)

  • I second all the good vibes here - but, truth is the WORST thing that could happen to a talent like hers is to get trapped into the Megacorporeal Imitation Reformation Red Tape & Disinformation Musick Machine! Go 'manda! You don't need no bull___- sponsored megabyte megaphonies to make you sound like the REAL THANG!...You already are.

  • they aint be thinkin...they be smoking.

can't think too clearly on that meth ...

  • They shelve talent like this and give us the Dumpster Diva Britney Spears instead. Makes ya wonder what the music exec's are smoking.....

  • WOW!!!!! I thought i was the only one who new of Amanda Marshall, everyone i ever asked, was like Amanda Who? This is great....Go Amanda....GIVE US MORE

  • I can well imagine that she won't have a record company telling her what to sing. Rightly so!

Why doesn't she release a DVD from a live gig? She can afford to - doesn't seem to get many tunes wrong! I'd buy in an instant - and if it was from some website. That's something good on the internet! I'd help spread in Germany and bordering countries - that's all I can offer.

  • Thank you so much 4 this video! I love Amanda! What can we do to get her a new record deal?!?!?!? She is SO amazing!

  • Every artist has recordings that don't sell wello, the questions is how can not ONE RECORD COMPANY PICK UP A ARTIST THAT HAS THIS MUCH TALENT. She's in limbo with most people not missing her until they hear one of her songs, then it's like that girl could sing, "what happend to her" We don't know. I have to feel it's Amanda not wanting to perform because I CAN'T SEE A RECORD COMPANY PASSING ON ONE OF THE BEST VOICES IN 20 YEARS.

  • i agree 100%

  • I won tickets on her website to attend this concert. It was taped in 2 show, the first at 8 Pm and the second (with the audience shot) was at 10 PM. You see me often on the whole DVD as I was in front row :)

  • Look at 4:55, when she let's it rip, how far from her mouth and in side she keeps the microphone. This is because she tries to prevent it sounding too loud, meaning that this lady sings really really loud. Talk about energy! I love her albums, but even more I respect her live show's (cont)

  • - in this fake world of Antares AutoTune -induced over-pretty pop stars that sound fine in albums but are terrible out of tune in live shows (Enrique Iglesias / pssy cat dolls for example) - (cont 2)

  • - in this fake world of Antares AutoTune -induced over-pretty pop stars that sound fine in albums but are terrible out of tune in live shows (Enrique Iglesias / pssy cat dolls for example) - this Grand Lady of power rock singing is REAL. She really really really is that good. (And for those who do not know, Antares AutoTune is a nifty tool for studio engineers, that can make even Daisy The Cow to sing in tune, any melody they want. It is commonly used in RnB / Pop records nowdays)

  • I love Amanda Marshall.

Her and Sarah McLachlan are the best.

    >w<

  • Amanda rocks thats all. Shes better than manufactured artists. Amanda is more natural and has pure talent.

    Go Amanda!

  • She is AMAZING live!! Can't wait for her comeback!! :)

  • i envy anyone that has seen her live. she has an energy and power i've never felt before. i own two albums and still marvel when i listen to them.

  • Riveting! She's absolutely gorgeous and her voice is majestic. An enormous talent. I've had the good fortune of having seen her live 3 times and each performance was brilliant.

  • 1995: Amanda Marshall

    1999: Tuesday's Child

    2001: Everybody's Got a Story

    2003: Intermission: The Singles Collection

    2006: Collections (Greatest Hits)

  • dang that girl got a voice!

  • I love the way she really rearranges her songs when performing them life. I wish there was a video of the long version she did of "Let It Rain". Better yet, I'd love to see her come back and give us some new material. Amanda...where have you been, girl?

  • The woman dissapears between albums... it's sad really. Last I heard she was dropped by her label...

  • I hope she emerges soon with some new music. I don't understand why she's completely disappeared the way she has. You'd think she was in the witness protection program or something! Even if her label did drop her, she could always put a new song or two on her myspace, or record an independently produced record. Her website may as well have tumleweeds rolling through it! :(

  • Wow... She's really an energetic performer. Makes you wish you were there to see it live.

  • Amanda Rules!
