  • Imagine a world where empathy was paramount...

  • fat ass beat

  • yes, this is on Vanilla Sky, which is a great soundtrack btw! I know the movie gets laughed at a bit but I loved the movie and the soundtrack is worth having. lots of good songs on it! this is one of the great songs and a great vid!

  • Vanilla Sky Soundtrack!!!

  • Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, Apex Twin is probably one of the most talented musical shows was overstated in the history of humanity is not what I understand, the music industry, has sold millions of them, but no one really listens, with the exception of those who working with the cats and call to Joel and healthy work

  • good memories

  • Awesome video!

  • jajajajaj esta muy bueno el video =D

  • Comment removed

  • I've never been to New York. Is it this mean and depressing IRL?

A few people have told me it is, while many others have disagreed.

  • Great critic to the western "civilization"...artists, last hope.

  • I'm having a bad dream. But the music is so good! lol

  • Has anybody else noticed the glaring continuity error in this video?

  • Whoever marked my comment negatively HOW DARE YOU! Have you spotted the error? Obviously not so HOW DARE YOU mark that comment negatively.

  • lol..getting a little too bent for just a simple thumbs down aren't you?? I didn't do it, I just thought your little freak out was funny ; - )

  • Have you spotted the continuity error? Do you want a clue?

  • AGAIN WHY MARK THIS NEGATIVELY! There is a continuity error in this video. STOP GIVING ME THE THUMBS DOWN AND LOOK FOR THE ERROR.

  • You've peaked my curiosity, pmanngw. I'd like another clue.

  • OK - take a close look at the limbs he has missing throughout the video!

  • I saw one error in the scene with the breakdancers. lol

  • LOL that's it! At 3:50 his right arm is missing, but at 4:02 it's his left arm that has gone! Well done for spotting it.

  • Also, check the scene when he walks up to the breakdancer. You can see the actor's real arm. It's around 3:38.

  • Yes - some bizarre stuff happening in this scene!

  • piqued*

  • this song is the best, yeah aaaaaaaaaa

  • heard this song in the club scene in Vanilla Sky.

  • West doesn't want to see the African man.

  • Amazing song, they should have stuck around a lot longer then they did.

  • this is my very first time seeing this and I have to say awesome wow this is fantastic

  • this video rocks

  • Afrika Bambaataa ! Peace out Zulu kingz !!

  • silvio rimmarai cmq un perdente

  • i remember tripping balls when i saw this as a kid

  • Same here, it was on a demo CD in Official PlayStation Magazine, when PSX still was the king.

  • I caught this song on Vanilla Sky last night and nearly had a nostalgia explosion , started babbling to my friend about some psx demo and a guy made of glass , he never remembered :(

  • awe =o

  • Amazing video and amazing music. And Afrika Bambaataa is a legend. *On a side note, looking at the mirror, I hope that I am not as skinny as that guy. : )

  • i saw a part in this video when the black man touched the white man, the black mans arm and hand crashed to the ground and turned white. WHY?

  • you don't ask those questions because there is no right answer. It's for you to decide. Honestly, I didn't notice it. But if it drew your attention, you must feel it's important

  • Honestly i didn't understand the video too... Btw mam i miss NY even after 6 years now

  • that doesnt happen, its just because the colors are all blacknwhitish that it maybe looks like it. but the arm doesnt change color

  • Yeah, yvish is right - it doesnt change colour, its just the lighting.

  • yessssssss!!!!!!!!

    greatest ever!

  • fuck!!!!??!!!!

  • Classic.

  • fett

  • Love this music ^_^ it's the song my dance class are going to do a dance to at a dance festival!

  • OMG!This vid gave me chills..f**kin' truth buzz throughout!

  • nice visuals, what's it shot on: red camera?

  • Video was made 6 years before the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company was founded.

  • This is a very powerful visual about ignorance, apathy and ambiguity. So many have become so desensitised to the plight of their fellow human beings. Very sad.

  • The video is saying is that indifference leads to destruction. If the first man who hit the bum would have helped him, aka not been indifferent to his situation, then the homeless man wouldn't have lost the other pieces of his body which leads him to the point where he cannot protect himself and thus, gets hit by the car. It is a statement which says that being indiffernt does just mean that you are not helping a person, it means you are actually leading him to his demise. Timeless theme.

  • videoclip says somethin...

  • es un temaso!

  • he don't want to show his video on facebook...gna gna gna gna...idiot

  • 1998???

  • 1999 from the album Rhythm and Stealth

  • ROX !!!!!

  • Definitely one of the better Cunningham vids. + Sensational meaning behind the vid even if it's a bit obvious

  • afrika shox rox ;-P

  • CHRIS CUNNIGHAM = GENIUS!!!

  • nice

  • First saw this video on a playstation demo disk!

    Still don't get old.

  • Nice Video

  • a scruffy homeless looking guy walkin around, all ppl ignoring him the he gets hit with a car? what video am i describing lik u know what i mean. its an unreal song lik dont get me wrong

  • hmmmmm, bit too much lik rabbit in your headlights(or thats too much lik this, whichever came 1st) i think

  • I can't help but laugh watching him get slowly destroyed by society haaaha !!!! GREAT SONG

  • el video es unaa chimba!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A-Friii-Kaaaaaaaaaaa-Baaam-Baaaaaaa-Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......

  • Unbelivably good! Chris is a genius!

This video had so many substances in it.

Like how the primitive, pure form of lifestyle (which the African man stands for) being completely shattered and slaughtered by the merciless, cold and "civilized" city.

No passers-by offer a helping hand even the man was obviously very weak and injured. Only until the end comes a Good Samaritan!

Nevertheless the man still get killed by the yellow cab...

The Hi-tech wins. What a tragic truth. :(

  • you're a nob

  • il say

  • absolutely fantastic! no way

  • best video ever

  • paranoid video

  • DOPE!!! I have been searching for this vid for ages!! Cheers

  • DUDE apsolutly the same with me a friend linked me the vid god bless him and all the living ;p

  • If you own the CD, I'm pretty sure it's included on it. Well it's on my copy anyways, but it may not be on newer copies.

  • its a krazy video

  • you couldn't get a better mix than Leftfield/Bambaataa. Used to pop to Planet Rock and others like Man Parish etc. This just instills in me of how a great transgression from that era can be achieved.

  • great! worth watching

  • Chris Cunningham rules!

  • an amazing amazing video.

and of course a classic song

  • Fucking ace 90´s classic!

    Let´s all get electrified!

  • i start grinnin like a dumb ass t this song when its starts when im high....

  • yea this was on that ps one demo wen i was about 8, freaked me out then, its quite comedic now though for some reason XD

  • yeah yeah yeah . i remember that. time ago

  • check out bomfunk mc's "steady rockin" and listen to that robotic voice... find the diferences! or dont...

  • Ive neverunderstood the meaning of this video. Ive seen it hundreds of times lol, ah well its abstract

  • it's Chris Cunningham, get used to it :P

  • I think it has to do with the way in which basically the entire continent of Africa is hurting, and in serious trouble. Yet we in the West do nothing to help, and just continue to watch them wither away in front of our eyes. The guy in the video withers away, piece by piece, until the end, when he is finally destroyed for good.

  • true but judging from the video it actually looks like the people actually have an effect on him withering away, they're contributing to it - which is also true of what you've said. The West consumes the most, at the expense of not only Africa but just about every other continent. Everything is exported to us, because we can pay more for it then any other set of nations.

  • always loved this from bout 8 years ago or sum shit back in the day grew up to this sort of vibe so holds memories big up 5 stars n favourite

    Good times :D

  • świetny kawałek klasyk

  • all I can say is.........WOW!

  • I Love This Song

  • The B-Boy who goes down first is a legend - Speedy from the Rock Steady Crew. He's one of the few early generation B-Boys who is still dancing now despite pushing 40! He's still great as he's kept his skills up rather than getting lazy like many others. Nothing but respect for him, he has awesome style. Shows you can still be a B-Boy past 30, I'm gonna do the same! =)

  • BREAKERS CAMOOON!!! I LOVE AFRICA BANBAATAA

  • I heard it for the first time in the movie, Vanilla Sky.

  • Very profound statement.
