yes, this is on Vanilla Sky, which is a great soundtrack btw! I know the movie gets laughed at a bit but I loved the movie and the soundtrack is worth having. lots of good songs on it! this is one of the great songs and a great vid!
Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, Apex Twin is probably one of the most talented musical shows was overstated in the history of humanity is not what I understand, the music industry, has sold millions of them, but no one really listens, with the exception of those who working with the cats and call to Joel and healthy work
I caught this song on Vanilla Sky last night and nearly had a nostalgia explosion , started babbling to my friend about some psx demo and a guy made of glass , he never remembered :(
Amazing video and amazing music. And Afrika Bambaataa is a legend. *On a side note, looking at the mirror, I hope that I am not as skinny as that guy. : )
you don't ask those questions because there is no right answer. It's for you to decide. Honestly, I didn't notice it. But if it drew your attention, you must feel it's important
This is a very powerful visual about ignorance, apathy and ambiguity. So many have become so desensitised to the plight of their fellow human beings. Very sad.
The video is saying is that indifference leads to destruction. If the first man who hit the bum would have helped him, aka not been indifferent to his situation, then the homeless man wouldn't have lost the other pieces of his body which leads him to the point where he cannot protect himself and thus, gets hit by the car. It is a statement which says that being indiffernt does just mean that you are not helping a person, it means you are actually leading him to his demise. Timeless theme.

a scruffy homeless looking guy walkin around, all ppl ignoring him the he gets hit with a car? what video am i describing lik u know what i mean. its an unreal song lik dont get me wrong
Like how the primitive, pure form of lifestyle (which the African man stands for) being completely shattered and slaughtered by the merciless, cold and "civilized" city.
No passers-by offer a helping hand even the man was obviously very weak and injured. Only until the end comes a Good Samaritan!
Nevertheless the man still get killed by the yellow cab...
you couldn't get a better mix than Leftfield/Bambaataa. Used to pop to Planet Rock and others like Man Parish etc. This just instills in me of how a great transgression from that era can be achieved.
I think it has to do with the way in which basically the entire continent of Africa is hurting, and in serious trouble. Yet we in the West do nothing to help, and just continue to watch them wither away in front of our eyes. The guy in the video withers away, piece by piece, until the end, when he is finally destroyed for good.
true but judging from the video it actually looks like the people actually have an effect on him withering away, they're contributing to it - which is also true of what you've said. The West consumes the most, at the expense of not only Africa but just about every other continent. Everything is exported to us, because we can pay more for it then any other set of nations.
The B-Boy who goes down first is a legend - Speedy from the Rock Steady Crew. He's one of the few early generation B-Boys who is still dancing now despite pushing 40! He's still great as he's kept his skills up rather than getting lazy like many others. Nothing but respect for him, he has awesome style. Shows you can still be a B-Boy past 30, I'm gonna do the same! =)
have you got cunningham's dvd yet? check out the "directors" series by on palm pictures, best money ever spent on music. spike jones, chris cunningham, michel gondry, stephane sednaui, mark romanek, rhcp, beck, bjork, tricky, beastie boys, mirwais, portishead, black crowes, all awesome shit, makes MTV look like an infomercial
As mentioned by a few others, I first saw this video on a PS1 Demo Disc I had probably 9 or 10 years ago but thought it was so good then, that I still watch it now.
i once saw a music video in wich a guy gets hit by a car multiple times and gets up every time and at the end of the video a car smashes into him and breaks apart and the guy is stiff he doesnt move at all,is it cunningham's work?or what song is it if someone could help tanx
..yes I know what your talkin about...best music video I ever saw...I don't remember the song, I found magic mushrooms in a field, ate them and watched..but I do know som1 who knows..will let you know..

You've peaked my curiosity, pmanngw. I'd like another clue.

OK - take a close look at the limbs he has missing throughout the video!
pmanngw 2 years ago
I saw one error in the scene with the breakdancers. lol
DamitaJoBoy9 2 years ago
LOL that's it! At 3:50 his right arm is missing, but at 4:02 it's his left arm that has gone! Well done for spotting it.
pmanngw 2 years ago
Also, check the scene when he walks up to the breakdancer. You can see the actor's real arm. It's around 3:38.
