  • I love the intensity you sing with, it was majestic.

  • I thought you were magnificent; especially for doing this "on the spot"! I like the tempo you took through the Prestissimo parts. Too many professionals take the Prestissimo parts too fast so they can gloss over the adagios.

  • the u-g-l-i-e-s-t singing/conveying of this great work.

hope most conductors aren't in a rush to show

their hidden ""musicality""...firm sense of beat though

  • I love the vibrancy of this voice, the commitment to clear text.

  • I think there needs to be a greater consistency of tempo - both thematic tempos should be linked in tempo - when I conduct this I say quaver=minim is a good way of linking the sections to maintain a good structure. But hey, great for a first timer!

  • Was there a reason we needed two conductors?

  • My student soloist (choir and soloists were all my students) felt that I should sing that Aria onthe spot. For fun, I handed him my baton. He never directed any choir/orchestra before. When he did not start the orchestra properly, I stepped in and helped. The orchestra responded to me as director for a long time.

  • his first "day" was flat.
