Aha, you are located in upstate New York. I'm from Syracuse so I recognize vehicle rust like that. I was surprised that Part 2 started AFTER you had installed the rocker panel. It would have been nice to see how you did it. I suppose it is pretty much the same as on the rear wheel well - cut out the rust, fit in the rocker panel and tack it in place. Can't wait to see the next in the series.

Man wish I knew what I was doing so I could do that to my truck! Wish you were near me so I could have you do that for me, How much you charge for rockers on a silverado? I was thinking of trying it with the slip on rockers, If the bottom of the cab corner is rusted can it be done from underneath welds that is without removing the bed?

@pisser20001 not good to have a 2" thick plate pin the skin of your middle finger between one of 1 3/4." I work in a job shop, so we cut some thick stuff on our water jet...unfortunately, you can't pick up aluminum with a magnet.

@pisser20001 if you were quitting smoking it may have been a different outcome,,,but it does suck when they kick , I saw a kid stick one in his tshirt, throat when cutting a exhaust pipe, had to get the ambulance gave himself a trackieotamy ( you know what I mean)) but I still have the electric grinder, it grabbed his tshirt and wrapped it around the cutting wheel like 10 times and into his throat , did make a nice clean cut on his throat and pipe,,,

You do know you will have a scar on your head now from that grinder. Because of the skin and tissue that the grinder cut out is gone and will heal from the inside out leaving you with a scar... I know because I have a nice one on arm from grinding.

Don't you bid those paint and rust repair jobs time and materials ? I you do then you could have used that rocker if it was no cost to you.
