    Honestly sad and cruel book but so Smartly Smartly Smartly written.

    I've reread and reread and reread it after i turned the last page.

    You have much more courage than I do. It is my favourite novel but I read it 10 years ago and I am still too scared to reread it - I was (still am) traumatised...

    Whereas I read Sade's complete works, saw the films 'a clockwork orange' and 'salo' (decades ago) without flinching...

    I think 'the god of small things' is too real-life; that's why.

    Yes, horrors in real life are much worse than any horrors in TGOST, but somehow TGOST continues seamlessly into real life...
