  • Thanks for that-I will check out the open day

  • Hi. I kept thinking about joining the Stoney club-would you recommend? Also I do not have my own boat yet, are there many folk who have boats and look for crew?

  • @emwhistle ASYC is a great club, good racing, 3 days a week. There are a few lasers you can hire if you are boatless. Crewing oportunities do come around now and again. The Web site has lots of good info.

I think there is also an open day being planned for the 24th June (or around that date) if you want to come along and have a chat.

  • Hi! Great footage. Inspired to try & attach my camera to my boat..... Thanx for posting!! Don.

  • Unsupported video format on iPhone.

  • thats friggan wicked! how fast were you going?

  • As fast As I can!!

  • great video!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cheers Chimp, Looking forward to getting back in the water next month. May dig out the camera on a windy day...

  • what kind of boat is this

  • Called a Blaze. Made in the UK by Cirrus race boats. Google the web to find out more...

  • Wow that thing realy moves.

  • Goes even faster in the right hands...

  • Hello GittanM,

    Call me 'The Handicap Bandit!'.

At 90Kg you would not be too heavy for the Blaze - I'm a good 85Kg without the kit on. As for getting your hands on a Blaze, I am sure the supplier (Cirrus Race Boats) supply to your neck of the woods.

Speaking of weight, they are just in the process of developing a 'big boys' rig based on the Blaze called the Halo. Minimum crew weight 100Kg.

Ever in Scotland, give us a shout and you could find yourself at the helm :-)

  • This vid actually made me chuckle out loud as I watched the two-sail Five-Oh fail to reel you in, and then as you sailed through the Contender and Fireball. Something tells me that you were sailing well below your PY that day...!

Wish the Blaze was available here in the US although, at about 90kg I'm probably too heavy. Owned an IC, RS600, Laser and Contender, and raced a Phantom, but have never had the chance to race a Blaze. Closest I came to that was an ISO...!

  • thanks a lot for replying.

  • nice video,

would the blaze be suitable for a 5'10 65kg person, its just im thinking of getting one what is it like? Is it too lairy as my dad is thinking of sailing it as well and he assumes that the wings mean its nutty am i right or is he mistaken

thanks for your help keep posting vids

  • Matt,

Blaze is a very friendly boat to sail. Very stable - excellent fun. The wings just make it much more comfortable to hike out on. Boat carries a wide weight range well and power controlled easily. I can only say positive things about the boat - now on my second with the fleet in the club growing steadily due to its character pulling people away from RS300, RS400, laser, and a couple of MPS crew looking on wistfully as they swim around in the water...

  • nice vid

  • Cheers Shifty.
