wow i have never encountered a rude canadian customs officer. you have to also be polite back to them and answer all their questions. they dont know how long you have been in the US, canada and the us dont share information. harper is soon passing a law though that will allow it. then you guys cant lie and ruin our economy. i went to school for customs and I am working in a customs related job. i think that the officers at our border are doing a great job.

This particular officer seems pleasant and down-to-earth, but the majority of border agents I've ever dealt with coming back into Canada have been incredibly rude. So as a Canadian I have a message for all CBSA, especially those in Niagara Falls:

I will sleep so much better tonight knowing that your'e making 60k+ a year to stand in a little booth, harass citizens and protect us from invasion by the scary Mexican apple pickers. As for respect Spunk, I was always taught that it had to be earned.

I was coming back from the U.S. by car after a week in the U.S. and I told the border officer I was bringing back with me $200.00 worth of stuff. He immediately wrote me up, I go to the till and tell his superiors this is not so..
