If you read about Radiohead, they actually said this "whatever you scene maybe, we're not part of it". They clearly stated from the beginning that they didn't want to be compared, they really made music because they like it. So stop with the Coldplaye/Muse bullshit alright
@santiagocarp14 it's a sad song no doubt, but the lyrics actually point to something else, some kind of adventure. it's actually uplifting to me, specially at the end
@santiagocarp14 you clearly have some kind of mental deficiency my friend, i love this song but it is just a song and as a real man i can listen to it without being a big girl and crying over it
I'm very intrigued by Amnesiac. I feel like it's often forgotten because it was release only a year after Radiohead's most famous album - right behind OK Computer - Kid A. It isn't B-sides either. I hate when people say that. I did hear that some of the songs may've been recorded while KId A - but B-sides implies that they are leftovers, and "I Might Be Wrong" and "Like Spinning Plates" are as gorgeous, if not more, than anything on Kid A.
Every time I hear this song I just imagine a kid being beaten down and then when the big break happens rain starts to fall heavy, he stands up, and he just yells screams, face contorted with a mixture of rage and happiness...
This song is about how the illuminati is taunting the world cause they already control everything and there is nothing the rest of us can do anymore and that it's too late for us. They are using Radiohead as their public speakers. I'm jk btw.
It seems pretty obvious to say that the haziness of the album would fit with the idea of someone who has amnesia slowly trying to remember things, the red book on the album cover like some kind of diary to help them do that. Of course, it could be seen as the colour of New Labour but Radiohead don't necessarily choose to make things about a single meaning.
Amnesiac has such a softness in sound to it. The hazy vocals of Thom Yorke in this, for instance, might have come from some World War 2 recording. Even 'I might be wrong' is all gentleness like Radiohead going all Stone Roses: 'Let's go down the waterfall. Think about the good times'. It's like it's trying to send you to sleep with a lullaby after the starkness of Kid A, although the 2 are often essentially regarded as companion pieces. When it picks up tempo at 1.54 it's so unexpected.
Incendies is a french play written by Wajdi Mouawad. It was translated into Scorched..... Ghooooost Horseeeeesssssssss..... Ghooooost Horseeeeesssssssss..... Let's not shout please :), Thom Yorke is trying to sing this awesome song :O
@jmasterX I totally agree with you, this is no place to shout. The request for redemption indicates that one should then ask, who in fact is the 'troll' in said situation if one in fact evaluates the definition of 'trolling' ;) . It seems as through, the instigation of an all caps rage indicates that the trolled became a troll herself did it not? Moreover, is my own off topic comment itself not an instance of... trolling?
@jmasterX Absolutly, after all if it was not for Thom and George Orwell, the whole world would still think that 2 + 2 = 4... how absurd would that be... oh... there I go again...
@jmasterX and @KeyOfGeeMinor Actually, there are TERRIBLE mistakes in these two theories. Both present serious (but barely not noticeable) procedure failures, which is what makes you think that the equation is right!
And about the Orwell's book, he wasn't stating that 2+2=5, it was a metaphore about how a totalitarian government can bend the truth according to their will and still have all the support from the people, depending on the way they do it. Sorry for the bad english (:
@jmasterX Dude, Radiohead =/= Thom. It's not His composition, it was created by all five.Had you listened to The Eraser you'd know that nothing Thom could do on his own will ever be greater than RH as a whole. It bugs me when people assume it's all one person.
Like this if some French movie that nobody saw didn't bring you here! Since seeing HP7P2, I can't hear this song without hearing Neville shouting "you and who's army?" at a large group of Death Eaters.
@ProfessorRJLupin SORRY BUT INCENDIES IS FUCKING KNOWN!!! IT'S NOT FRENCH EITHER, BITCH!!!!! IT'S NOT FUCKING FRENCH! IT'S QUÉBECOIS!! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND NEVILLE SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Ghostshepard Okay, I'm really sorry that I may have insulted Quebec and Incendies. I live in America, and Incendies went straight-to-DVD here. In Quebec, I'm sure that loads of people saw it. I assumed from the title of the movie that it was French because it had a French-sounding name. However, I've got to admit that you are overreacting. Finally, I am not a bitch, I am just a Harry Potter and Radiohead fanatic who knows very little about movies from Quebec.
@ProfessorRJLupin Cool. You troll well. I apologize, sincerely for having screamed. I actually like Neville as well. But truly, Twilight brought me to Radiohead, not that I like twilight, I saw the first movie only, and 15 step played. Just thank the Lord some people are still interested. I think Radiohead should go down in history. :) Cheers, broo.
@bluebow23 Because one war ends (life) and another begins (afterlife). Thanks for your concern but you don't need a song about a funeral to play at your funeral.
