ummm i call bs on the two keltech guys statment. DB has been in buisness for many years. they make airboats in FL. they started in guns with the db380 in 2009.....
And in California, of course, we can't buy "pocket guns." The geniuses who legislate here have seen to it that only the criminals and cops can carry such guns. Fine, criminal, break into my house and I will waste you with my Springfield Armory 1911-.45 ACP instead of with a "pocket gun."
Just purchased a DB9. Boy, is this pistol very consistent. Yeap, it is consistent in jamming, failing to feed and or eject. Yeap, it consistently shoots low and to the left. Stay away from this piece of crap. I've been ripped off.
I acquired one because of your video. First two hundred rounds was less than ideal. I took mine to a gunsmith and the magazine had a quirk that he fixed. I shot 124/125 without failure. The failure was my fault. Critical Defense by Hornady works for mine.
I'm happy with the gun. Thanks for a great vid. Recoil is pretty snappy. More than a Glock 23 or 30.
I bought one. I don't intend to "test it" with more than 6 rounds. If it works on the first 6 rounds, I can carry it based on all the tests I have seen on YouTube. I am not going to go & shoot it 200 times somewhere. I think that is a bad idea for a very small gun intended to be light & tiny, not durable.
A proper test wud be to get 200 guns, take them out of the box, fill the magazine & shoot them each 6 times. Then put in a 2nd magazine of bullets & repeat that. If they all shoot the 12 bullets without problem, the gun passes the test. For u are very unlikely to ever use ur concealed gun anyway (aside from testing it), & if u do use it in an emergency, u are not going to be shooting more than 12 times. But I wud not trust this gun to shoot 500 rounds.
From viewing a number of videos, it appears that this small, light gun is good for its intended purpose: concealed carry & use in rare emergencies. I have seen no problems shooting the first 50 rounds, which is more than It wud ever be used for (& that rarely), unless the buyer thinks he needs to go shoot it 200 times to BREAK IT in (bad idea). For this gun may not stand up to 200 shots!
I have a new DB9 and it is junk. One trigger reset failure after another. Will have to spend another $50+ to ship it back for warranty repair, which Diamondback will not cover. Just stick with a tried and true brand, unless you just enjoy being a beta tester for a upstart gun company with bad customer service....
Is the trigger pull consistent? I have a DAO Sig and I love the trigger--smooth, consistent. Have any women fired this pistol? What do they think of it? I loved your video by the way.
Picked up my Db9 yesterday from these guys. They have the best price anywhere online. I ran 135 rounds of mixed ammo and it was almost perfect. My first magazine, on the last round I had a FTE. After that it ran perfect. Mine does not like to feed HP ammo with a large HP cavity. Hydra Shok would hang up on feed ramp lip. Pdx1, and Speer Gold dot ran perfect
Still not quite sold on the DB9 just yet, though. FirearmsPatriot had some MAJOR FTF and FTE problems with his, plus I've read multiple reports of frame pins coming out and the like. Probably best to wait awhile until they get the problems worked out on this new model. If and when they do, the DB9 could be a GREAT pocket gun. If DB fixes their bugs, and if other companies follow DB's lead, I foresee sales of .380 ACP pistols taking a serious nosedive.
I just got my DB9 in. I normally wouldn't order a gun right after its release, but based on the EXCELLENT performance of my DB380, I took a chance on it. Looking forward to taking it to the range this weekend.
I want your job! I do appreciate the torture test with the mud included. Ive considered a db9 as my summer conceal / backup gun. How many rounds total have you run through your t n e model for evaluation? Thanks for any input! Keep it up and praise to you all from new hampshire!
Great review. There are virtually no videos up for this gun yet, and I really appreciate you putting this out as I'm extremely interested in it. You've got yourself a new subscriber too!

@MassaJim I feel for you. California has some very stupid legislators.

@GunBigotHater - Thanks - And their stupidity isn't limited to gun laws, which is why we're sinking fast. I don't plan to live here forever.

Did you have any problems with the trigger pin walking out after shooting? That seems to be the number one common problem.

A hard to find gun, and the rarity of the second magazine is like winning the lottery...

Can you compare the trigger on this to another weapon, such as the kahr-pm9, kel-tec pf-9, etc?

How do the trigger pull and recoil feel?
drumminebayer 9 months ago
@drumminebayer
Trigger was smooth. Having shot some pocket 9mm before, I was prepared for the recoil, which was normal in this size gun.
