I mean, I understand not everyone would do that but this hospital really had no reason to still be there. If it's haunted, why not tear a building down? Besides for monetary reasons. @Synh6416 One of the main reasons this place has not been torn down is because it is full of asbestos and the state cannot afford to remove it. Many times when there is activity like that at Henryton, the spirits would just remain tied to the land. Man cases involve land being haunted and not the structure ...the land has been there long before the living. HUGS

I went by Henryton State Hospital with a foreman from one of my previous jobs back in 2007. After we were done working he stopped near a fence about 200 yards from the facility. He told us about its history as a sanitarium and a mental hospital and half-jokingly suggested going in. He became serious but we didn't go in because I refused.

I didn't even know the place was supposedly haunted back then. I was just scared of latent tuberculosis germs! But that place did give me a bad feeling....

Scott was a family friend that Vicki had allowed to live in the house, he lived there before we were there so that was not the right time line in the show. First of all if Henryton gets demolished it is because of the state the buildings are in because of vandalism and decay of the location. Henryton is a location I spent 5 months researching and investigating I have almost 17 yrs in the field. As to it being "Mah" Henryton ...I believe the State of Maryland owns the locations. It is because of people such as yourself that have caused the stress and deterioration of the buildings to occur. Do you have permission to even be there in the daylight?

@vov35 I agree. My buddy and I were just there yesterday, and I can't believe the level of destruction/demolition/graffit­i. Vandals have made it very docile. It's not even scary anymore. I remember going when I was younger, back when the auditorium was still there. No graffiti, much creepier. But we did get some sweet pictures on this most recent outing. My only regret is that there are very few areas with no graffiti/destruction.

it seems to me that the people involved in credible "ghost stories" don't want to be involved with tv. Instead we get these people who from the beginning "want" so much to have a "paranormal" experience. That they subconsciously fabricate experiences, and when this transfers over to TV, comes off as incredibly week. This has all the tale tale signs of make believe. A emotionally young girl in loss. A mother who dose not want to question her daughter due to her daughters mental instability.

Thanks for your recommendations, but I have been in so called haunted houses and have yet to experience anything that was supernatural. I am really trying to keep an open mind and have now gone to the extremes just to experience this stuff to prove to me and others if this is real or not. So far I have been dissapointed, and have yet to run into anything that would point or suggest an active entity. So unless someone has a sure fire method, I'll keep trying the wives tales. I am a contractor and have been in some pretty scary looking places, but no supernatural experiences even though others said there should be. When I was in the service, I dealt with the dead and also places where death had occured, and still nothing. When I had relatives or loved ones pass away I attempted to contact them, still nothing. As far as being a skeptic, I am one of the biggest ones out there. I go in with a clear mind, or a blank one as my name suggests, with no preconcieved notions.
