Yea, we going there in Jan, to live there work for the US embassy i hope its freindly to all races especially black people haha, i hope there are movie theaters and malls and that kinda stuff. we might have to sell our hummer cuz the roads might be too small...is it really nice?
@diallow It seemed a very business-oriented place when I was there, but being the financial capital this isn't unusual. It *is* pretty - the view from the bridges is staggering in good weather. I can't comment on malls and movie theatres as I wasn't looking for them!
@dkiu100 I can't find a reference to this online. Closest I can find is a study released in June this year that states it's currently the 38th most expensive city in the world to live in. Do a Google for "most expensive place in world luxembourg".
@IainPurdie Oh is that so I just looked a the world record book, and realized it was a 2008 version sorry. Knowing how the world is advancing I am not surprised it fell back into 38th place
@dkiu100 Hehe, no worries! There is also how you judge it - most expensive to live? Visit? Buy property in? Highest cost of living? Highest wages? It could still be well up there on another chart.
I grew up in Luxembourg but moved to Dublin 5 years ago. It wasnt special to me, because i've seen it all day but now, after not being there for kind of a long time, I start missing it. This video reminds me of wonderful times on the Place d'armes, where I once have had a concert and observating the fireworks on national holiday. Thank you for the reminder of these wonderful times.
Not so beautiful city, I expected more colours, hightech city, better plastering... (not the fault of author of the video) Luxembourg is the richest country in the world, so they can invest more in their city. Restorated cathedrals didn't look new to me.
Richest in that it's got the largest income per head capita, but you always have to remember that this is an average. There are poor people there and the wealth of one or two people can completely skew that result! Regardless, the city is wonderful - no amount of money could buy the setting with the tree-filled crevasse running through.
I really liked the place. The weather was a little sucky, but there's a lot to see in such a small area. Shame about the lack of free public toilets, but that's endemic across most of mainland Europe.
