I have to say, that has got to be the most complicated way to tie a cravat ever!! I'm guessing that is what we in Canada would call a double windsor. The single windsor is much easier and is almost indistinguishable from the double.

Once I was going to have sex with guy who was wearing a tie, when I was trying to undone his tie I was pulling down the short part and I kept pulling it down trying to untie that tie in a sexy and quick way but all I did was that .. Randy - I always am amazed at the young guys I know who cannot do this basic task. It was something drilled into me at an early age. I live and work in DC and on many occasions I have to wear a tuxedo. You might mention to the guys about a military trick I used for keeping my tux shirt tucked in and socks up. That is those military garters that connect your shirt tails with the top of your socks. They are impossible to find in the civilian world but they work just great.

I think everyone should know how to tie a tie in at least one kind of knot, not just men. Seriously the amount of freshman boys in my trumpet section who can't tie one.... Windsor knots are neat looking I think, I just learned a few months ago how to tie one. I had been using the normal wrap-around-twice-and-through-­the-loop knot that I had to teach guys all the time when I worked at a department store. I learned it because I thought it was meant to be dressier.

Good demo - tie tying is kind of like riding a bike ... hard to learn, but when you get the hang of it it becomes so second nature that I don't think I could "slow it down" to demo it without screwing it up! P.S. The hard part is getting the two ends the same length and then both being the correct height above the gig line.
