I remember when I first played the glider levels, I was surprised by how hard it was to controll it.

Man, that first level boss is easy, I never die on that stage, but then I've only played the master system version which has got the same graphics, but a bigger screen area so you can see more. It took me ages to master the hanglider tho. This is one of my favorite sonic games.

The part where dr. robotnik saves sonic stumped me for a while until I figured out that the instruction manual says that Tails leaves a note saying that dr. robotniki wants the chaos emeralds in exchange for Him, but the intro shows tails being kidnapped in front of Sonic's eyes. In other words, dr. robotnik doesn't want Sonic to die so he can get all the chaos emeralds from him, then kill him. Besides, he helps Sonic kill the squid.

This is a good first review. To me, the game was easy...until the boss fight. That's where the problems started. If I moved even a little toward the boss, I would slide towards it causing me to either hit it or bounce off it, putting me in a bad situation when the next cannonball looking things started bouncing down towards me. Not to mention it is tough to gauge how high they will bounce. About the review, I like it and to be honest, I'm doing a review and I bet it won't be as good as this.

This game would've been better if it wasn't so damn hard. It was ridiculous that they didn't give you any rings at all in the boss levels. I believe they did the same thing in the first Sonic game for Game Gear, though that one isn't as hard thankfully. The bosses in this game were also ridiculous from what I remember.  Why not just fight Robotnik in each zone like most of the other Sonic games? Plus, using the hang glider in the second zone was a major pain in the ass.

This game was actually developed by Aspect, not Sonic Team. Aspect produced most of the Game Gear Sonic games (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Chaos, Triple Trouble, SkyPatrol, Tails' Adventures, and Sonic Blast).

I'll have to aggree, this game really does suck. Gameplay sucks, bosses suck, and the levels are out of order in difficulty. It just sucks.

But the music is probably some of the best Sonic music I've heard! Some of the songs from this game are origins for other songs in future Sonic games. The Green Hills Zone music is the music from the Japanese Sonic CD. The music for Level 1 (Underground Zone) is the music from Leaf Forest on Ultimate Flash Sonic.

Anyway, back to other main game topics. The controls.........SUCK ASS!!!!! Sonic has incredibly low friction, and slides everywhere. It is MISERABLE!! Especially on the first boss. Also... Fuck it! I'll just make my own review of this game as soon as I get a Game Gear Emulator. Make sure you can put up with alot of yelling and screaming, though.

4-3 and all of Zone 6 was a bitch. 4-3 was covered with spikes and you need to use springs to cross. But because of the small screen you can't see the spikes and spring making it a bitch to complete! And Zone 6 was a confusing maze filled with tubes. Because you went so fast in the tubes and you needed to change the direction you're going, I needed to rapidly pause! But to me, It's a classic to me, even if it's hard.
