Maybe it´s too late to answer this. All the things you ´ve mentioned are correct, but the version used in the movie is a little different, ´cause it closes with "Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritu Sancto. Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen." In English: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be in all eternity. Amen. But, again: All you´ve written is right. Thank you!
I feel like a fool but I've just learned that Jackie O'Shea (Ian Bannon) was killed in a car crash back on November 3, 1999.
Jackie O'Shea was my great friend. If he was here now, if he could hear what i say, I'd congratulate him on being a great man, and thank him for being a friend. Rest in piece Mr. Bannon you had a great run. May we all raise a parting glass to you.
thank you for your tribute to Ian a good and dear friend of mine. When he died an African gentleman who met Ian while filming To Walk With Lions send a letter addressed to the great white chief Ian Bannen London .. and it reached his widow !
This is one of my favourite films too, and I'm English. A tribute to good old fashioned values and way of life, sadly missed by many of us these days.
Soy de Colombia, amo esta película, para mi es la mejor película que he visto en mi vida, espectacular, le he dado una copia a todos mis amigos y familia para que la disfruten.. viva irlanda
wonderful movie, a rare film indeed. And with us in hollywood making things to get the dollar, im glad people still push to see movies like this get made. A fourm a film that must never die.
the greatest film ever made if this was a real story then i rekon this would have hit the hole world i wish it was but in some ways i wish it wasnt its confusing but the film is my fav 1
When you get there, young whippersnapper, you'll possess a more mature and, hopefully, positive outlook about this stage of life's journey. This is a blessedly wonderful movie. One of my favs.
The words that are spoken at a funeral are spoken to late for the man who is dead.
What a wonderful thing it would be to visit your own funeral. To sit at the front and hear what was said. Maybe to say a few things yourself. Michael and I grew old together. The times when we laughed we grew younger. If he was here now, if he could hear what I say I'd congradulate him on being a great man and thank him for
That's my favorite part of the movie, too. I know it by heart, as you probably do. He takes the opportunity to show his friend what people would say about him at his funeral. Brilliant.
That's perfect! I wish I had friends like you! I'm Norwegian and my husband is too. I love this movie. It's my favorite. I wish we lived in a town like that.

Communion Lux aeterna luceat eis Domine: Let eternal light shine upon them, O Lord: Cum sanctis tuis in aeternum, quia pius es. with Thy saints for ever, for art merciful. Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine, Grant them eternal rest, O Lord, et lux perpetua luceat eis. and may light perpetual shine on them, Cum sanctis tuis in aeternum: in the company of Thy saints for evermore, quia pius es. because Thou art merciful.
thanks for uploading, its great music and a great film. this track reminds me of the walk to the church with this guy and his flute, but i found out that this is actually another track named "The Lotto Man Cometh". would it be possible to upload it, too? i cant get enough of this music.
Hmmm, yes...it wasn't the Lord's Prayer, I checked haha. Whatever she is singing sounds so incredibly familiar, I think I had heard it in Church or something...haha this is very intriguing for me. Thank you for posting the song!
Not that my Latin is up to snuff, but I'd be inclined to say no, only because the Eternal Light lyric doesn't appear in the English (or any other modern tongue) version I'm aware of.
Watch the film, the scene where Ned's false teeth come out is hilarious. The reaction of the actors is so natural and spontaneous that it couldn't possibly have been scripted. So, so funny it brings tears to my eyes every time! Brilliant!
This video really made me think of all the great friends who aren't here anymore. But thankful for the ones that are and optimistic about the ones who will be.

A salute to the Ian Bannen with are glasses high.
His corps in the ground, and his spirit in the sky.
With a shit grin on his face knowing he finished before us in the Human race.
Kudos Ian, thanks for your devotion to share your great talent with the world, and in return the world will remember you.

Lux Aeterna is used as the Communion Song during Requiem Masses according to the 1962 Missal. The lyrics and english translation are as follows:
Lux aeterna
Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum,
quia pius es.
Requiem aeternum dona eis, Domine,
et Lux perpetua luceat eis,
cum Sanctus tuis in aeternum,
quia pius es.
