LKY cant blame us for nt getting married young and giving birth young. the society here is so competitive. with the rising cost, u wun be able to survive without a degree nw. and u see, guys haf to go thru army. and after uni, they probably are like 25/26yrs old. u cant possibly get married straightaway and start popping out babies right? family planning takes time and TONS of savings.

Actually I agree with LKY on this one, if you guys want to get the foreigners out of Singapore so much then fking increase the birth rates. If you so worried about your future job prospects then why don't you start a family and have more babies to raise our birthrates rather than your phD. the hell!!! How are we going to have kids if our society is forcing us to get that certificate? Dont lie, almost every Singaporean is chasing for that degree cert.. mostly part time. In simple terms, the girl asked LKY WHY Singapore let in a large number of immigrant and thus causing some unhappiness to Singaporeans. LKY countered by saying " the reason why we let in so many immigrants is becoz of females in SG are giving birth later and later at old age thus resulting in low birth rates. Thats why we have to open the doors to allow foreigners to come in to fill up the lack of people ( in the near future ) and in a way solve declining birth rate problems.
