What of bunch of pretentious assholes. There was much more posing than art in this crowd. The real art during the 50s-60s was the music - Elvis, Johnny Cash, Bealtes, Stones, etc.
lmao, don't know shit about warhol, but if you don't even know what hare is, to ask what a male rabbit is called, you can only be a thick air-head and most likely , according to Mr. Springsteen, born in the usa.
William Burroughs looks annoyed, not relaxed. I seem to remember having read that he and Warhol didn't get along very well. I doubt that Burroughs was a good mixer, having read his books...
@kosmischesynth Yes, he looks roundly fed up...I think I also remember reading, perhaps in Ted Morgan's biography, that he thought Warhol was basically a moron, and took an equally dim view of Lou Reed...
@33onlytwin haha, that's interesting. It's very Burroughs not to recognise what you helped create. I ought to read his biography really -- I can't figure out what it is I like about his work, as a book like Junky isn't really made of anything special, and yet, Burroughs' phrases haunt me -- I end up carrying his little maxims round with me in my head. I'd have to say that his writing is like a drug, and that it hits you at the back of the neck first and washes through your whole body...
the English guy is, I think, Victor Brokris who tape-recorded many of Burroughs dinner-parties and turned it into a book Conversations with a Genius.
Ha, the lies from the Chelsea tour guide/bell-boy is like that of the same magnitude of the one in Sid and Nancy. "this is the floor where Naked Lunch was written". LMFAO.
can you say who the guitarist is accompanying nico? just read james young's excellent book, 'nico, the last bohemian', about nico & her musicians, so would appreciate knowing who that guitarist actually is. & thank you for this!
That tour guide reminds me of Peter Sellers.
