wow just what i want... i live in australia, land of bugger-all choice... what did you search for... what ebay... do you have any info at all to help me track it... i can find great e40 fluorescent 100W plus but only in quantities of 5000 !!! email is martin2handy A**T yahoo.com.au (replace A**T with little symbol). thanks

um, they aren't compact. they are supposed to be bfl (big flourescent light)

Nice to see I'm not the only one ripping into cheap Chinese crap. If it's flickering I reckon it could be an undersized or defective capacitor in the ballast, either that or a partly-failed diode bridge causing it to run on half-wave rectified power.
