wats wit all th spanish titles - chiquitita, fernando, mama mia? I never noticed it b4, they're swedish right? watev - it works, they're all great songs. i have to say, i'm th youngest of six - born in '69 & i love my 80's music from hs but i was in elementary wen my older sibs were ruling th house w 70's rock so i grew up knowing wat GREAT music really was.
@Sabrehorn hahahha , the strength of this song huh ??? well Swedish is very hard to learn and also very difficult to memorize , good luck ;) ( i tried some basic words , cant even memorize)
"grumm70 The people from that part of the world all look the same, Inbread freaks," Yeah, right. These four people look exactly alike - if you're an asshole like you, in which case ANYTHING with two arms and two legs looks the same, and enviably so.
"grumm70 The people from that part of the world all look the same. Inbread freaks." Yeah, right. These four people look exactly alike - IF you're an asshole like you, in which case, ANYTHING with two arms and two legs looks the same, and eviably so.
Abbas music is beyond anything else ever made. They are outstanding and their music is classic and will be heard and loved by generations. I am so happy to have grown up when Abba was THE band. My first LP was ABBAs and their music has influenced my life until now and will still do. I cant say whats their greatness, but the genious and simpleness is appealing millions. My old cold, male heart and sould melts every time I hear their music, especially this one.
@grumm70 Yeah, right. These four people look exactly alike - if you're an asshole like you, in which case ANYTHING with two arms and two legs looks the same, and enviably so.
im 27 and i was not even born when abba started but from listening to their songs, they are one in a million i only wish i was born then to experience such a magnificient group. i love abba!!!!
Are those songs semaphore of the Mexican revolution?
We have an on-going rebellion. Rebellion against injustice and excesses of the rich and the ruling kind. They use the cavalry to extingusih the flame of love like a "blown out candle" and every Chiquitita will be left grieving under the still shining sun
Our Chiquitita did not just grieve, she continued the fight. Sickness came and she did succumb. And I heard the son yelled out, "Ituloy ang laban"!
Chiquitita from ABBA's Voulez Vous album in 1979. The working title of this song was 'In The Arms Of Rosalita.' and a short version of this song is here on youtube and is really worth a listen. Ho...
great music... it's magical and brings happiness from the heart. And no i'm not over 40 LOL but close hehe. but yeah this song will sound at least as good as it sounds now 100 years from now :)
There will never ever be a musical group such as this that evoke such great memories of happier times in this world than ABBA. Like the saying goes, "you don't know what you've got till it's gone! All people under 40, it's too bad you didn't live any of ABBA' s music, to be able to stroll down memory lane to realize what i'm talking about! Thanks ABBA, for being there in my younger days!!
well sorry for not being 40 i love abba etheir way i would love to grow up with abba hahaahah and hey i do have a memory lane wiht this just not like yours though ahahah.
lol When I hear this song, I imagine a church with a tree next to it, in winter (a little snow), all from bottom view against the blue sky...! so this song has a lot of charisma I think!
ABBA had so romance in their music. It touches the soul like no American ever did at the time or since. I doubt that it is possible for American music to even the surface of such romance. The genius of ABBA was that the made romance popular again, and did it with a lovely beat. Clearly, too good for Americans.
You said, "I doubt that it is possible for American music to even (scratch) the surface of such romance."
You're obviously unaware that there are many American songs that are equally romantic, if not more, as anything ABBA ever did. Bon Jovi's "Bed of Roses" and "I'll Be There for You," Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are," Styx's "Babe" and Journey's "Faithfully" are a few that meet the criteria (and then some).
Since you dislike America so much, why don't you leave?
Hola AbbaChick: Excelente tu video...Sabés que me hubiera gustado tener 30 años en ese momento t conocer a este GRAN GRUPO, (En especial a AGNETHA y a ANNI FRID), pero solo tenía 4 Años.

In the movie Mamma Mia Tanya and Rose add lib one part of the of the song where they say and your darter's wedding is tomorrow insted of singing In your eyes there is no hop for tomorrow. Why do you think they did that?
Because when they were making Mamma Mia! The Musical, Benny and Bjorn were there as you probably know, and one day, Bjorn when they got to that part, Bjorn says "and the wedding is tomorrow!" so they put it in, I guess it's just so the words fit just a little better with where they are in the movie. The rest of the song is pretty much the same after that though!
I watch the movie yesterday again haha and ABBA The Movie again! lol
You know, chiquitita does mean little girl, but it's more like an sweet type of name... It's more like cute little and sweet, but it's for someone you really know.

Chiquitita, tell me what’s wrong
You’re enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that you’re oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
I’m a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, I’m the one you must rely on

hey guys..
do you really wanna know what does CHIQUITITA means?
well, i´m mexican and I only know a bite of english.. so , I hope that you didn´t get angry with my bad english =)
well..
chiquitita is like little girl...
i can´t explain the word much better..but I think that you can understand that litle expression...
chiquitita->pequeñita->pequeña
it´s something like honey... i guess...
well if you didn´t understand only search chiquita in any traslator, that would be a clue
kiitiit0w 3 years ago
Oh wow thank you. I put it in a translator, but it didn't come up with anything.
Thank you!
