i have stock HID on my 2000 TL right now. can just buy HID bulbs on ebay and replace them? people want me to get 10k bulbs because i guess it's brighter and nicer. i want 8k because it's not too bright.

Actually the higher the number the less bright it is. Also you can just replace the bulbs. You'll need D2r. 8k is just right with the brightness and color. Check my vids.

Hello I am a Acura tech, Actually the factory HIDs are engineered to be as bright as possible, they are 4k stock. If you change the color temp you will just be changing the color of your bulbs.

Cool! thanks for the comment. i have a little problem now. i can drive with the lights fine they look great. but when i stare at the bulb from the outside it looks like the light is only coming through half of the headlight. looks really weird. it was such a pain to install the harness for the bulb.

Its supposed to cut off half. That prevents glare from blinding other drivers.

wouldn't it cut off on top if it were to prevent from other drivers? it doesn't matter though i see fine. that's what's important.

Its a parabolic reflector. Like a spoon. grab a spoon and look into and I bet ya everything is upside down. The top reflects down and bottom down reflects up.

so what do i do? just twist the bulb around until it's right? it was such a pain in the ass to replace the bulb. the harness that keeps the bulb in place is this stupid little paper clip looking thing that wraps around the bulb and is screwed in place.
