Great car due mostly to its simplicity. The gear change...... "suicide" front doors on earlier models, like the one I had, a 1960... 424 cc engine, centrifugal clutch... a beauty
That is interesting to know. I was just making a comparison. I was not giving a historical account. There have been some cool cars over the years that have helped put the world on wheels. France:2CV like Germany:VW Bettle. Just like the U.S.: Model T., ect. That is amazing to know that the 2CV came before the VW. Thank you for your reply!
Good Grief-I know absolutely nothing about cars & would never pretend otherwise-however,I find this to be an amazing clip in so short a time-frankly,cars with "character" such as this & the Volkswagen "Beetle" are something to be mourned & lovingly remembered-ok,modernisation comes into everything but sometimes--the things that have years on them hold the very best of all things good--not that I'm promoting myself as an old banger, beetle or Curvaceous Vamp Mark 2 of course---LOL,LOL,LOL!!!--K xx

Wonderful, revolutionary car! The French answer to the Volkswagen Beetle!

actually...the 2CV was developed BEFORE the VW Beetle so you could say that the VW was the German answer to the Citroen 2CV!

And although the VW was more finely finished, the 2CV offered much better mileage, traction, off road prowess, and a far more comfortable ride.

Better traction? As a FWD car?
