  • i can rep 225, but when i go to 315 seems like its harder to do it with proper form. am i gonna look stupid wearing a belt with 315? i only do deads like twice a month so i wanna make sure i get the core strengthening benefits when i do dead.

  • @bicmyflic25 do it lower weight higher rep then... do like 5-8 reps of your 5-8 RM with good form

  • @pumitaproductions the other day i did 315 for 3, then 275 for 10, and now i know why the hodgtwins dont deadlift. My fucking shins are all scraped up and bloody, and my lower back aches like i mighta snap, crackle poped some shit up LOL!

  • @bicmyflic25 haha, i used to get my shins fucked from deads, it hasnt happened in a while though, not really sure why. today i did 275x12 and i have no shin pain whatsoever. still though, how often do u dead?

  • @pumitaproductions once a week on leg day. ill start my leg routine off with deads, then ill do squats in the smith machine. To be honest i fuckin love that workout.

  • @pumitaproductions ill either start with deads, then go to smith squats. or ill start with barbell squats, then do very high rep stiff leg. On the smith machine you can go very deep, and keep your spine more upright, taking pressure off it. thats what it feels like for me anyway.

  • Congrats bro on your new record! Your form was excellent! Next time you go for a 1 rep max try without shoes at all, and you'll notice u can lift more, just a tip for the future (especially since your doing it in your own gym instead of public).

  • My max is 160 kg or 352 lbs at a 80 kg bodyweight but you're definitely having a much better form than I am on my max lift. Nicely done.

  • This is a pretty big guy. By his appearance I would think he could lift more. I'm only 160 and I did this today. Not trying to be a dick, just doesn't make sense to me.

  • i dont understand how you pulled that so fast ( like 2 seconds) and apparently beltless and say its ur max..?.. u could probably pull 335-340 based on how easily u got that up... ur true 1 rep max will take a solid 3-4 seconds to get up... not saying thats like a ground rule or anything but if u can pull something in about 2 seconds, its probably ok to throw 5-10 pounds on there.

  • that is one beautiful form , and i think you are using overhand grip by both hands right ? i never use alternate grip , i dont think its good for symmetry plus all tendon tears happen from this grip .

  • @eazyenation haha. Last November, I had trouble Deadlifting 205 but I've been able to bench 320 for a few years now.

    If you've never trained the muscle, it's no surprise that it can be weak

  • @LexPhilogus bullshit... if ur back is so weak ur chest WILL plateau before it gets that high... chest and back muscles support each other.. u wna bench more, workout ur back... 

  • @obezana I'm telling you, that I used to max bench 320 full ROM, and yes I plateaued on bench several times. You don't have to believe me, and I wouldn't blame you for not, but it's 100% true. It gives me no pride to say it though, because I wasted so many years winding up with a crazy imbalance.

    I'm living proof that you can get your bench up pretty high without squats or deads.

    I do wonder how much stronger my bench would be if I didn't have those imbalances.

  • Nice. I can probably hit this right now myself as a 1RM. I do reps at 245 I just never try completely maxing out on the deadlift. I'm working my way towards doing 315 for reps.

  • Nice dude how much you weigh? I just finished the first phase of Chad Waterbury's ABBH program and brought my 1RM up to 315 also @ 147 right now on my cutting diet.
