  • my dad has one and he has two samsui's and two pioneer's hooked up to it .

  • Koto - Japanese Wargame (Master Mix)

  • Yep,that's same like mine.I have 2 pair of JBL 4311B hooked up on this beauty!Sound is great, but i have a litle buzzing when i turn volume down on both channel.

  • Listed for $1,200 back in '75..bought mine in Germany while stationed at Wiesbaden..at the time no money left over for speakers!..later added JBL L-65 Jubals..still have it all.

  • I could of had one of those for $250.00 and I had the money and everything and did not buy it....... omg if I could turn back time. was so dumb back then.

like I could be sitting here with a very amazing powerful vintage receiver rather then stuck with my currents Lloyd's receiver.. well I am getting a Sansui 4000 soon. but man if only I could turn time back... :(

  • Oh, yes! Some time after I bought my Marantz 2325, they came out with this unit! Remember it well. Love this video! Thanks for the memories. Back in The Day, Marantz truly ruled. I've been saying that for darned near 40 years now! Rock on.

  • Marantz 4400 Made in 1978

  • Nice blue light. LED Update ??

  • Have you had the capacitors, et al, replaced? As a general rule they are only good for 15 - 20 years. I have a 2225 that was just restored (new Caps, etc) and it's as good as the day it came off the shelf, absolutely blew me away.

  • hey i am an aspiring audiophile

i recently purchased a marantz 1070 and it sounds amazing.. ive been enjoying ur clips muchly.. i am interested in getting a 4400.. also another 1975-76 model to start a collection.. question? why do you have plugs in the phones jack in front? or are they just running into your headphones off screen? thanks

  • I found one of these in a pile of stuff for sale in the back of a truck at a yard sale. I paid $50 for it!! Fixing the little issues now and hoping to sell it refurbished!!

  • very nice.

    i just found a 2215 b for 50 bucks.

    love marantz good vid.

    peace,jay

  • I've had one like yours for 30 years and had it restored with new globes behind the scale but sadly these don't last very long and wondered if you knew of something better perhaps the original

  • a beautiful peice of kit.

i have the sr 4400 which is the surround version-but it still cannot compare to this.

you are to be commended on your taste sir!.

  • I'd give my left nut for one of these

  • What year are the machine from ?

  • Kiiiing of all amplifiers!!!

    I am SO jealous........

  • It's auctually rated at 2x125 and 4x50

  • Que lindo receiver, parabéns ...

  • Vintage audio systems rulez

  • Does the scope only work with the tuner or also with external sources?

  • The beautiful warm sound of Marantz tube receivers

  • Can you please tell me what song this is? I dig it.

  • WRONG!!!! It's Koto - Japanese War Game

  • ...wanna sell it?

  • Im more of a Denon person, but Marantz does make quality receivers..or at least they did back in the day.

  • i have one of these! my dad left it for me when he passed away 2 years ago... it's in brand new condition with wood case and wired remote! hasn't been turned on in almost 20 years!

  • turn it ON and enjoy it. OFTEN.

  • That is one fantastic receiver! I'm looking to buy a Marantz product like this, not sure which one though. I've been looking into buying a tuner, but the 10B and 20 seem quite rare on ebay. The 4400 is too (I live in the U.K). I have an Arcam A32 at the moment, but my vintage product is currently a JVC A-X9 and it's superb - but I bet not a patch on the 4400! Oh, and by the way, Koto Japanese War Game sounds very bass heavy on it, is that intentional?

  • no marantz usually sounds very full in it's sound. UK power is 245VAC??

that will be a problem for receivers.. unles you can get a transformer from 245/240 to 230/120VAC

  • Yeah, UK is around 240v (it varies though between 230 and 250) but I'm sure a step-down transformer would sort it out...is there no 120/240 switch on the rear? It's a shame if there isn't. What speakers are you running on it and what source? I've got some Wharfedale EVO2 30s at the moment, but I'm looking to get some B&W 801s or the old JBL L100Ts. Must say, you have one superb collection! I wish the "boss" would let me have that much stuff! ;)

  • Hal Ive always admired your work and your collection is second to none but mate what are you on when you say a 4400 is 125watts rms per channel minimum!!!!!

So what I am understanding is that at no volume at all its pumping out 125 watts per channel.

Clear me up ole son as I have just purchased one on ebay with powersupply issues.Seller says its "motorboating" via headphones

  • Just got a 4400, and cannot get any sound from the rear. No sound from the rear headphone jack either. It's in mint shape, so what am I doing wrong? I have the rear inputs connected right, and try it on discrete and vari matrix settings, with no results.

  • switch rear on. whahah

  • Marantz rocks!

  • muy bueno el tema, tambien el artefacto, ¿cómo se llama ese ritmo??

  • amazing

  • yep - it's a neat thing - I have it incl. all the accesories - cabinet, sq-2b, cd-400b, remote.. don't use it anymore though..

  • how much you paid?

  • Great receiver!!! Love the scope.

Proud new owner of a 4240 here.

  • 4240 rulez

of all teh budget type quadro receivers.

    teh 4240 is number one.!

great receivers never have any problems with those things.

4230 on the other hand is terrible sometimes.

4270 is very expensive compared to the 4240.

the 4300 and the 4400 are top.

  • real receivers glow in the dark.

  • I have to say I like this more than my 2270 in some ways. Is this considered a better model?

Have to get one of these someday...

  • Not better, but it is a whole different model.

    4xquadro

    or 2xstereo

2x125watt minimum at a 200watt maximum per channel.

    with scope.

  • hey, what's the title of that cool sound?

  • i HAVE to have one of these...a friend of mine has Marantz 1550L, which has far less bells and whistles compared to this ultra-galactic sonic marvel, but it rocks anyway. he bought it for 290$ from a guy who was cancelling his collection and had two more Marantz recievers, i think they were 221x or 222x models, im not sure... he runs a Marantz TT42 turntable thru and uses vintage czechoslovakian Tesla ARS 1038 speakers...thanks for the post!

  • AWESOME receiver and cool song!

  • ok.look my new video load in two hours.i love the vintage audio i have marantz 4400 receiver - deck alpine al-65 3 head - eq sansui se-9 turntable technics sl-2000 - spk marantz ld-50 made in belgium - spk yamaha ns-355 - remote control marantz rc-4 and remote control rc-430 for cut current
