I loved this station growing up. I was not healthy, had home schooling and watched KTVU all the time. I remember C&H on kgo channel 7 when I was 4, Humphrey had a different hat on. Humphrey was always needed redirecting. Our kind of childhood, riding bikes, door bell ditching, candy stores, and most of all, Charlie and Humphrey are gone. Like I said, I was not healthy growing up, these guys were my friends, always looked 4ward to seeing them every day. Man i miss these guys!
WOW! This was something to remember!!! Charlie and Humphrey were like family. My childhood just came rushing back. After all these years, that brought a worthwhile smile to my face.
Is there still a channel 2 here in the Bay Area. I live in Pleasant Hill and don't have cable so I pretty much get 0 channels. I do have fond memories of 2 programs in particular: Saturday nights watching "Creature Features"(brrr that creepy intro) and Captain Cosmic. Did anyone not know that was Bob Wilkins? Ha ha. Oh, Charlie and Humphrey were cool too.
It's still there but in name only. All the great movies they used to show have been replaced by crappy TV shows with the word "FOX" always in the corner of the screen.
yeah, i think they were asking specifically about the 'bits and pieces' public service announcements being gone -- so the person at the station may have just referred to that. still great to see -- and those psa's were so ubiquitious for so long it's hard to believe they completely disapppeared.
Thanks so much for posting! It's great to see Charley and Humphrey again. Someone posted a still photograph with the audio of one of their skits, but some of the comments mentioned that all the actual videos had been destroyed. I'm glad that snippets still seem to exisit and managed to make it into this commercial!
