I can attest to the channeling negative emotions into something productive part. I've had anger management issues and several other mental issues for most of my life, but when I started weightlifting those things all mysteriously vanished and I became a much nicer person.

I don't think I was a "hater" even beforehand, but if lifting can cure depression and control sporadic bursts of anger, I'm pretty sure it can address other things too. >.>
