    Customer Reviews:

This cartride arrived as Original Equipment with the Audio-Technica AT-PL120 Professional Direct-Drive Turntable from Amazon. I purchased an additional cartridge due to past experiences with reductions in sound quality over time. The recommended Tracking Force of 3-5 grams appeared to be for ...

  • beats are very costful just because the brand and style but the sound is crap!

  • how much u paid for it

  • Do these leak alot? I really need headphones that dont leak.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm selling my beats and gonna buy these. Plus, I'll have some money left over :) I love that it doesn't have leakage! When I bought beats, I didn't know anything about other headphones. I bought them cause of style.. They take way too damn much batteries, and they are so loud at 50% volume in terms of leak which I don't like.

  • That big plug is a 1/4 TS connector. Mainly for DJ and studio work.

  • Do they leak sound?

  • @ChromeFalconMan They Leak very little, really depends on the volume. but at normal listening levels they do not leak at all

  • Im watching this review with my Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones....LIKE A BOSS

  • Are these good on an iPod Touch 4g without an amp? I heard these are reallly good, but with mp3 players (I hate to say this) beats studios would be a better choice. But I want something as good as or better than beats for ipod use on the bus and at school.

  • These headphones are BRILLIANT, you cant go wrong.

Had them for several months now and still loving them.

  • @26dragon93 I have a question. Don't take me as an idiot. But is the bass any good? I love headphones that can have crisp highs and deep lows.

  • @djjayd12 This depends, on the type of music you typicaly listen to. A basshead would likely find the bass in these to be too light on the bass(i currently boost the bass on mine when listening to alot of bassy music). Although when i listened to Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon i found the bass to be very impressive.

While i boost bass from time to time there is definatly bass in these headphones, they are often described as bassy, it just depends on your style of music.

  • @djjayd12 All that said they are brilliant headphones for the price especially if you are coming from a cheap pair and should sound amazing.

  • @djjayd12 They have very Defined Lows, they kick in when they should and extend very deep, for hiphop I find these great. You have that addictive bass drum kick, and still you get the clean vocals. Also for music such as reggae these are so amazing you wont believe it. You will find at the start the highs to be a bit sharp and maybe not that great but after the Burn in period, the Highs definitely become super crisp and not overwhelming.

  • @iggywow Very good description man. Thank you. I'm defiantly going in for these headphones now

  • For some reason It sounds small plugging into and Ipod or my ear is almost deaf????

  • @MrLoveStarcraft Could be two things. 1) They have drivers that need a bit more juice in order for them to put out their normal output. Some headphone need to go through a preamp in order to get a good sound out of them. An iPod does't have anything near a preamp fyi. 2) You should get you hearing checked if you are concerned about your hearing. Do you have similar problems with other sources or ringing in your ears? If so definitely get them checked. I'm betting it's the first thing though.

  • Im using these hooked up to my Macbook blasting Against Me! through Spotify right now.

Listen, I have some Shure 440 as workphones, I have Asus Vulcan ANC for my gaming rig and I had a pair of Studio Beats before I bought the M50s.

Trust me, these blow them all out of the water

  • @KEEELr hey i have studios too, how do the m50s compare as far as sound quality because im thinking about getting them

  • @KEEELr Is the cord detachable

  • @tidus725 Sadly no

  • @tidus725 No its not

  • hey i need these for 100 bucks were can i find um

  • @GoFoCof They're $140 on Amazon atm

  • For rock and metal- Bose ae2 vs beats solo hd vs audio technica athm50. Looks are important. Any suggestions?

  • @ishthefish519 The ATH M50 will beat the AE2 and the Beats in both of those. Looks... while i personally love the looks of the M50s, there not very flashy. So if you want looks, get Bose, under no circumstances should you buy the Beats, they sound like GARBAGE. The M50s though, will sound light years better than the beats or the bose. Hope this helps!

  • Would you rwcomend these for no series music listening to. Rap hip hop rock dubstep

  • @MrShnuggleMuffins Look up the Ultrasone HFI-580, they sound great for those genres. Hope this helped!

  • hey man,if I have the grado sr60. is this worth checking out? is it a step up to the grado sr60?

  • @jaodff These have a very different sound then Grado's, Grado's usually are associated with rock, while these are more of an all-rounder. Grado's are open to, so they have a much wider soundstage. These will have better bass, but not everyone likes that. I would say yes, these are a huge step up from the SR60s

  • @jaodff Depends what you are listening to. But in many cases, yes. But, the Grado's are open, so they have a much more airy sound.

  • cool. thanks for sharing your thoughts

  • That big headphone jack is because a lot of high-end audio equipment has the larger input.

  • i have the same speakers as you

  • beats are stupid.

  • @MysteriousStealthMan Amen Bro!

  • @MysteriousStealthMan you just can't afford one.

  • @johnypatti Who would get get a 400 $ headphone if you could get a much better headphone for a fraction of the price?

  • @zukoerb people who don't do their research and only eat what the media feeds them.

  • @MysteriousStealthMan Beats still sound good they are just highly over priced

  • @jthemano10 I don't like beats for the fact that they have overpowering bass. and the bass isn't even that good either.

  • @MysteriousStealthMan coming from a guy that has never owned Beats right? My M50s are awesome for production, but it would be hard to find a better earbud than Beats Tour.

  • @Gamebanga even if they sound good, the build quality sucks. I don't like the overpowering bass on the other hand.

  • @Gamebanga iGrado, so much better.

  • Should I get these or hd558?

  • @sfgfan09 Do not get the hd558s. Don't. Please, save yourself the time and just don't buy 558's unless you want a headphone that sounds worse than the HA-RX 700. I'm not saying the 700's are bad, they're not, but the 558s literally sound exactly the same but without the great bass on closed headphones. In fact, I'm returning them right now, very disappointed.

    Not worth it.

Instead, check out sites like head-fi, they typically know their stuff about phones.

  • @hornet579 Dont listen to this guy he knows nothing , the hd 558 is is the best headphone in its price range and the 2nd best audiphile headphone from 2010 - 2011 .

  • @j300a When it comes to headphones.... to each their own. it's all part of the experience.

  • @j300a "Best" is relative, and heavily depends on one's own musical taste and sound signature preferences. The HD558s are very great headphones for the price, but they're not the end-all "best" at that price range. Depending on your tastes, the AT M50s, AKG K240 Mk IIs, Ultrasone HFI 580s/780s, and Beyer DT770 are all worth looking at.

  • @r31ncarnat3d Hey man, you seem to know a lot, what would you recommend me for Rock, Pop/Rock, alternative rock? (ala Beatles, Oasis, Portugal. The Man0, I'd appreciate your help! =D

  • @ThaRolk yay! a beatles fan like me! ^^ Yes, they will sound good for rock, they are a very versatile headphone, doing a good job with most all musics. But, i think a even better sound (for rock) is the Grado SR80i.

  • @nightowl217 Thanks! =) And yeah, gotta love the Beatles man!

  • first 30 seconds tell you it's going to be a LONG slow boring review, next video

  • Are these good with dub? like actual dub, can you hear different levels of sub base etc etc?

  • just ordered these! I hope they are as great as everyone says! Using them for a studio aatmosphere and reviews say they are the best, check out my stuff and let me know what you think!

  • @puppyjoe2 Beats are better if you like certain music. These are good for everything basically. Beats bass is better though.

  • can anyone honestly say if the bass is better on beats?

  • @puppyjoe2 they're not exactly "bad". but they are $100 more than what they are worth

  • @puppyjoe2 The bass is better than the beats. But, if you want *loads* of bass, look up the Ultrasone HFI-580

  • would you recommend these over the V moda crossfades lp?

  • OMG! JUST OH MY GOD! I JUST GOT THESE TODAY AND WOW I WAS LITERALLY BLOWN AWAY! THE SOUND IS LIKE PERFECT!!! THE BASS IS JUST RIGHT AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST GREAT A MUST HAVE!

ALL I NEED TO DO NOW IS REJECT THE BEATS SOLO I ORDERED BEFORE WHEN UPS COMES DELIVER THEM :D BUT PEOPLE GET THIS HEADPHONES! THEY ARE WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT!!!

(the cable mine has is different than those tho...)

  • @jjr1123 you were LITERALLY blown away? where'd u get blown to? lol

  • @mrwright909 Lol shush i'm just too excited... didn't expect this thing to sound this great!! the reviews don't lie or exagerate! :D

  • @jjr1123 lmao alright, enjoy em, I plan on getting some very soon :)

  • Okay, ive been looking at the sony xtra bass headphones (the 500 and 700 models). I heard they have bad leak and i stumbled across these, and I thought these would be really nice. I listen to rap, dubstep, alternative and pop/hip hop and some rock. Would these headphones be good for me? How are the lows, mids and highs? that is VERY important to me. Also, are these good for ipod and computer music listening, also with movies and video games, but mostly for music. Thank you!!

  • @NCorrigan2014 I have them... for me they sound great for everything and everything you plug them into.

  • @jjr1123 ok cool

  • @NCorrigan2014 These are very versatile headphones, and have a very flat response. (meaning that the bass, mids, and treble are relatively balanced) For ipod listening, get a Fiio E5 to go along with them. (can be found on google for around $20) For videogames, they are not the best, but sound better than most. Hope i helped!

  • I'm a big music listener, and lover. I have beats solo hd's. They're pretty good. I don't do music editing or any of that but I love listening to music in good quality. Should I get these even if I'm only gonna listen to music on my ipod and computer and stuff with them? Somebody please reply.

  • @gangsterbaby2 what kind of music do you listen to?

  • @H75119847 I HONESTLY listen to all kinds of music. Mostly rock, hip hop, rap, and alternative.

  • @gangsterbaby2 ok, i REALLY RECOMMEND this headphones. a great all purpose can. i have the akg k242 hd for rock and "real" music, and for electronic, hip hop, etc i use sony xb700 that i don't like very much :/ plus i bought the beats tour and they are the worst thing i've ever done. so now i want these but i have no money ahah. i've read a lot of review about these and i recommend them to you

  • @H75119847 Thanks for the info stufff :)

  • Rule number one, dont review headphones using an Ipod, use a ZuneHD, sounds 10xs better.

  • I want to purchase these I am 5' 11" with an average sized head. I keep reading reviews that these are uncomfortable especially the headband not having enough cushion is this true?

  • Thanks for the review and demo. Helped me make the decision to buy these. Can't wait till they come!

  • I have owned these for some months now... They are amazing! Really opens up your ears! 10/10

  • @yousellouts that's the best hater rubbish I've ever read about these headphones. I got them myself and you can keep dreaming about a c0?k coming out of your headphones.. sersiouly these are really comfortable, they might warm after one hour and more but it isen't a nuisence. It is a lot of space in them, or not a lot but they fit your ear perfectly. You say they fell horrible under your ears? Then adjust them you dork.. there is also good bass in these, not to much and not to little.

  • @ReMarig00o i have adjusted them and they feel much worse, plus i don't hate these headphones, they sound fantastic but the comfort is like torture for my head.

  • @yousellouts Sorry I might have sounded a little mad but, if something is touching your ears inside the earpads you really should get them checked.. they should NOT do that!

  • @ReMarig00o It's not really in the earpads, more in the ear cups... but yeah it's weird

  • @HarryAardvark

You are soooo pitiful its disgusting

  • Would you recommend this headset for someone who mainly listents to dubstep and hardstyle?

  • @GamingRootz absolutely. The bass is supertight, crisp and punchy! Perfect for woobly dubstep :)

  • Not only have you wasted my time by calling this a review, you then have sent me insulting communications containing swearing and personal assault. I stand by what I have said, this is not a 'review' and any disclaimer that you are not an' expert' just goes to suggest that a proper title should be a person with little knowledge, just showing us his headphones with a disclaimer that he is prepared to use gutter language to defend his untenable position via email. I shall be informing Youtube.

  • @HarryAardvark Don't do it!

  • If by over the ear you meant padding goes on your skull and doesn't press on your ear it's called circumaural.

  • @DynamiteDerek hahahah well said

  • @pred8er1 U neither.

  • where did u get them for 115?!

  • I'm about to buy headphones over ears should i buy these or beats studio AND Don't give me fanboy BS i want a real comparison on sound quality nd noise cancellation

  • @limewireb Don't be a little bitch. No one's going to give you a review, but buy these. Dres are complete overpriced shit

  • @ianbar20 ill get dre's then

  • @limewireb your waste of $300? oh have fun getting your channel shut down from them sweet copied apple videos, bro ;D

  • @ianbar20 lol calm the fuck down, what wud u say if I told you i already have the beats pro's studios and and solos and ear budz and other $500-600 dj headphones already? and yea apple copied to bad its not copy righted or it wudda been reject when uploading according to new youtube policies

  • @limewireb These sound light years better than Beats, especially for any variety of music. (aka not just modern rap, dubstep the like) Also, the Beats noise cancellation is quite sub-par, and adds a slight hiss to the music.

  • I have beats studios, the $300 ones, they don't SUCK. just a bit pricey so stop bitching ok people? (Btw the solo and solo hd suck)

  • @vwlolfordlol they suck.. u paid for dre's name on it

    . lol

  • @NoKreativeUsername Have you tried them? Dude lets see some shit maxell $2 headphones... huh those suck. BEATS STUDIOS DONT SUCK. you're just not able to afford stuff

  • @vwlolfordlol i have solo hd and mine are great i had studios but i sold them to a dumbass for $450

  • @FameLies How old are you? I'm 11 and the solo's feel like sht on my head. but some dumbass bought the studios for a price of pros? WTF?

  • @vwlolfordlol im 15 and yea someone bought the studios for the price of pros ^_^

  • @FameLies lucky bastard :l

  • @vwlolfordlol the best part is that my studios were fake

  • @FameLies wow..

  • @vwlolfordlol They really do. I've heard sub-$100, no, sub-$50 that sound far better than Beats Studios.

  • Comment removed

  • @yousellouts dont hate cuz you cant afford them lol. there good just there is better i know

  • @yousellouts No they really don't...

  • @JimmyJones They're fine but the problem most people who criticize it that actually know what they're talking about is their ridiculously low price:performance ratio. They'd be a pretty good purchase if a lot cheaper, but that's just what happens with celebrity products.

  • I have a question:

I heard a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre Solo at a hi-fi store and i kinda enjoyed the vibrating/tickling sensation around the ears whenever the bass were booming.

You mention that the sound is pretty flat with the M50's, but does the ATH-M50 give same vibrating bass effect around the ears?

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that gives a nice vibrating bass, but without overpowering the high and mids.

    Please respond, thanks!

  • @MrMathiasBertelsen the focus of m50 is to produce the most natural and accurate sound as intended by the source (for its price) . if u want a specific sound profile/signature for a headphone, (extra/wide bass/ etc etc..)

the m50 is not for you.

  • where did you buy these??

  • I have a question: Purely based on overall sound quality and effects, which one is better Beats by Dre, or ATH-M50, or maybe sth else? Please do share with me.

  • @MalumnikaKir4o ATH M50, without a doubt, beats suck... whether it's the beats studio or solo they will produce horrible sound quality.

  • How good are they at noise cancelling from the outside?

  • Good review. Can the M50s get loud without getting distorted and making little "bzzt" sounds when the speakers can't handle it? I have a cheap pair of headphones right now and they can't handle anything over 50% volume on my laptop without the right speaker making weird and short buzzing sounds at certain points as if they speakers can't handle the sound. I just want to know if these can be listened to at loud volumes without breaking them.

  • @andrewshooter ive had these for about a year and i love them. they can go as loud as you want them. i dont know when they distort because the level they distort is over my pain threshold so you arent going to have a problem. you wont be dissapointed with these, good luck

  • Just got a pair of these for £55 new. And my god do they sound amazing. Burnt them in for 3 hours on some deep drum and bass and it made such a difference. Much better than my Logitech G35's, even for bass! Don't know why I've read that the bass on these is bad/quiet.

  • @jayboy81101 Where from? :/

  • @iam117 They've sold out, but its about the same price from this website ecrater.co.uk/p/12015461/cool-fashionable-designers-folding-ath

  • @jayboy81101 Word to the wise...DO NOT buy headphones or anything else from that company, fashionable designers folding ath 50's. They're fake. If you read the frequency specs, impedance, etc. they're clearly not the same as the Audio Technica ath m-50's. Also, there are a lot of chinese, indonesian, etc. companies making Beats by Dre headphones that look almost identical but sound even worse than the originals. Just a heads up.

  • these good for working out?

  • Is this as good as the AKG K701? (I know it is closed and 701 is opened)

  • Best headphones in the whole world real talk. been waiting a month for guitar center to get them back in stock. finally i can take these weak ass krk kns 8400s back were they belong. in guitar centers storage room.

  • where did you get them at for 115 i can only find them for 200

  • These are awesome. Just fucking awesome. With a headphone amp and a great audio source it is like a fucking orgasm for your ears.

  • You don't need an amp for these to sound good. They will sound better with an amp, but every headphone does. These headphones are perfect for someone just getting into real audio and work being plugged into anything and sound good. They can be used to DJ, monitor, or use portably.

  • Are these good for everyday wear? Like to plug it in ur iPod and just listen to ur music? Someone please answer thanks

  • @saallyy13yeah,,,i use an iPhone :) and as my local dealers say they were really built for apple devices,:) so yeah,,i use them for like goin to school,,having a walk, and they are worth every penny :) also sounds pretty good :)i bought mine at a PowerMac store so i guess they are good,. :)

  • Comment removed

  • do you need a studio to use these or to hear their full potential. if not do you recommend them for everyday use anywhere.?

  • @umpalumparcool yeah,,I recommend them for everyday use,me and my friends just bought this type of headphones,,we use them when we are bored and is worth it,, :)

  • I listened to this vid with my own pair of these! But my wire is coiled. :D

  • Hey wait so why would you plug them into an amp?

  • @elsapomasguapo if you want to play your instrument without disturbing your neighbourhood ?

  • @89Sonic Ohhhh shit -______- thanks bro.

  • @elsapomasguapo Many other people that make music have a soundcard that only put out signal in the "jack format" so to speak, so they use a mixer of some sort to control their volume, and that mixer only have a jack output and not a mini-jack output. This is a pair of headphones that is geared toward producers and hi-fi enthusiasts.

  • hey where did you buy these headphones from for $115?

  • do they leak sound?

  • Why do people mean by "burn in"?

  • @GMODCREATOR Apparently all headphones don't sound as good out of the box as they could be, if they were burnt in with noise. Think of it like seasoning a steak; you could cook it normally and it would taste alright. Or you could season and marinate it for a day or two, and it would taste fantastic!

  • @DynamiteDerek ahh I think I get you now. Well I might pick me up a pair of these next month sometime, thanks for the review

  • do these completely go around your ears?

  • @ToOFrEaKyFoU Yes

  • @DynamiteDerek - hey, im a student in college and i am currently looking for a headphone that also reduces/cancels noice from a noicy environment when the you put it on, like when you put on without playing music. will this work for me?? i would appreciate if you can answer my question.

  • @Ebonicz07 these headphones use passive noise isolation. This means that they use their seal around your ears with the music to block out any noise. I have not heard these yet so i do not know the extent of their sound blocking. What i do know is that this is the preferred option to active noise cancellation. This is because active noise cancellation ( Beats have had a half-hearted attempt at and Bose do very well) compromises sound quality, not too much though. Bose=good=noisecancellation

  • do these leak, i listen to heavy bass i want a pair of studio headphones with minimal leakage so others around dont have 2 hear what im playing would you recommend these?

  • @2MCHNV they'll work very well.

  • @Doobadoobas hey that's what my wife always tells me!! Sorry I was drunk when I wrote that. Skullcandy really is veal though. I've had skullcrushers and they sucked balls. I was serious though when I said skullcandy has a pair of headphones that are designed like these but the skullcandys probably sound like shit compared to these.

  • Oh yeah anyone want to buy these for 80 bucks? Hit up ThePwnageshop/com

  • @kingsley404 why are they so cheap on that webpage? are they legit?

  • @butuco23 yeah they are.

  • Whats the song in the beginning?

  • @kingsley404 Dunno, I made it in Logic back when I had my Mac.

  • @DynamiteDerek Oh alright, i just ordered these hopefully they do well with my DnB and Dubstep :D Thanks for the review

  • @kingsley404 Dude dubstep in these things is INCREDIBLE!

  • Listening to this with my shit skullcrusher lol please no hate I realized my mistake with these garbage skullcandy headphones, sound distortion and the bass is a vibration wtf, and then of course my bass stopped working altogether so now they're just normal heaphones.. Can't wait to get the M50s can anyone recommend bassy headphones 100-150 dollars don't want too spend too much
