Wrong! Japanese Navy at the beginning of ww2 is marginally stronger than US Navy with Pacific and Atlantic fleets combined but its industrial base and resource can only afford a one-shot campaign in which it has to deliver a fatal blow to US national defense; however, due to the immense size of territory of USA,the chance is zero. Therefore, after the initial setback in 1942, US can out produce Japan in every aspect of armament logistic. The ratio is not marginal but at a astronomical stage .
