1- Tumboctu was a city founded in XII century in MALI on niger river (really far from Senegal) arabs didn't arrive their and islam was spread only by commercial exchange.
2- Tarek Ibn Zied was Tunisian (from what was called Afrikiya in that time) - so not necessary black.
