I mean, anyone who is really offended at this needs to remember that our men and women in the forces risk and sacrifice their lives to protect the values we Canadians hold dear, and it's dishonoring their sacrifice to engage in petty arguments. We need to be very careful not to weaken our national character by becoming a nation of morons.
I should add, while I'm not happy about Canadians being put at risk I recognize the extreme importance of honoring our commitments and alliances, and the real threat to freedom the world faces. I love my country.

It's widely known that our militaries work very closely with exchange and training programs, the f35 fighter jet, NORAD, border security, anti - terrorism and I would imagine other things. Of course we spend less on our military when compared with the United States, our country is much smaller in population and GDP. To say we do nothing is disingenuous to day the least.

First of all the mounties are our federal police service, and are generally respected the world over. They are a paramilitary organization not just a police force, so they are better trained, or used to be, than the average doughnut eating cop.

Canada don't have to spend much money on defense because we don't go around and police the world. I totally forgot about this story, as a canadian thanks for the support Cenk. However, I disagree that the USA "protects" us. It's widely known that our militaries work very closely with exchange and training programs, the f35 fighter jet, NORAD, border security, anti - terrorism and I would imagine other things. Of course we spend less on our military when compared with the United States, our country is much smaller in population and GDP. To say we do nothing is disingenuous to day the least.

First of all the mounties are our federal police service, and are generally respected the world over. They are a paramilitary organization not just a police force, so they are better trained, or used to be, than the average doughnut eating cop.
