I'm surprised he didn't choke on his chewing gum! Even more surprised they let him have it in the first place! Still, he recovered very fast I thought:-)
I think the LAST thing you should be doing is chewing gum when doing this - huge risk of choking dont you think? And the pilot can't get to you to help.. you're screwed.
@MylesM316 i agree, not to mention that he has gum in his mouth while doing crazy pass out shit, ever think he might choke??? my mom used to check my mouth when i fell asleep to see if I spat my gum out..lol..... great vid though
Actually if that is a blue angel, they do not wear g-suits. due to the inflation of the air pockets may hit the stick in really close formations. It is something that is practiced and improve over time
@mormana They way I've heard it is that the Angels have a modified flight stick, designed to be super sensitive with almost zero "dead zone", so pilots must rest their forearms on top of their legs for stability. If they were wearing a G -suit the bladders in their legs would move their arms around during high G maneuvers.
Also, G-Suits are for combat, when maneuvers are quick and unplanned, where as the Angels know what they're doing beforehand, so can prepare themselves for high Gs/
I'd love to get this twat in the ring, and demonstrate my boxing techniques.
"There's a hook to the body",you ok bud?
"An uppercut to the jaw",hey man,get off the canvas."Two jabs in the nose" you still with me man?...."Heavy right cross to the temple" Oh shit,he's passed out.
Oxygen mask has nothing to do with it. The pilot wears a G-suit and is trained to flex his core muscles to keep the Gs from pulling the blood away from his brain and pooling in his legs.
@cdesha Why does the mask have nothing to do with it ? even wearing the G-suit doesn't prevent losing conciousness, in order to prevent it he needs the flow of oxygen around the body therefore wearing the mask does mean that there is easier intake of oxygen, that's why when watching Red Bull Air Race you see them breathing repeatedly, but being in a faster plane means the likeness of losing consciousness.
@samcotter96 It's not that they are "breathing repeatedly." They are performing what is known as the "hic maneuver." No amount of breathing is gonna help you if G's are pulling the blood away from your brain lol.
bullshit, pulling away blood from his brain? You make my day happy xD...
You funny =) and very WRONG!
for negative Gforces ( longitudinal ) you´ll get blackout is when your brain need more oxygen because all your blood comes to your foots, for that way u´ll need push your blood to u brain if not u´ll get G-Lock in 5-9 seconds...
For positive Gforces u´ll get Redout , is when all u blood comes to the brain ( is more dangerous )
@LeonidK340 You got that wrong buddy. The negative g-load will give you a redout, and a positive load will induce a blackout. Positive g-loads will first cause a grey out, then a narrowing field of sight, then a blackout and if it continues or increases, then unconciousness.
i think each person has a different toleration. the pilot wouldn't faint because they are highly trained in anti-G straining maneuvers (breathing, tightening up muscles, etc).
The name of the video isnt: tourist riding an F18! F18 tourist means in this context, the aircraft, Steve is not trained to pull the Gs!! As a teacher calling a student a tourist......

I think this is not real thing at all, possibly a pilot prank. No-one lets chew a gum in the cockpit. Fighter pilots have also special very effective gears (such as G-pants that fill with pressurised air preventing the blood going towards legs) for handling those G-powers so this guy shouldn't have really pass out; why didn't the pilot too get red on his face and drop? That's odd. Continues...
