Katelyn, you moved me. Screw the judges. I still remember this performance and it's one of my top 10 favorites of all time. And my biggest complaint with AI contestants, especially this year, is the authenticity. Noone really FEELS what they are singing and Katelyn felt this song from her head to her feet. I dont understand how the judges think. Look, she barely missed a couple of notes..but what is more important is that she sang with a passion that made those missed notes forgettable. All i could focus on was her face, the emotion, and the overall feel for the song. I watched the entire season, regrettably and i can say that to me, this was one of the top4-5 performances of the season. If all of the singers could approach every song with this commitment then we would rarely be disappointed.
This is hands down the most intimate and emotional performance of Season 9. How did this girl not make Top 10? I'm going to the Idol Live concert to see the Top 10, and I'm quite disappointed that I'm going to have to watch Tim Urban sing instead of Katelyn.

Kara is a very talented writer and has been in the music business for quite a while but I think sometimes she tries too hard to sound like she knows everything and get the respect that people have for simon even though it's like a love hate kind of thing. i hate how the judges contradict themselves. one week, they tell them to figure out who they are, and to stick to what they're good at. then the next week, they tell them to take more risks and try something new. they also tell them to change up the songs to make them their own, then when the contestants actually do that, the judges tell them they should have left the song alone and they changed the arrangement too much. how the hell are the contestants supposed to know what to do?

it's a good rendition, however, i do agree with the judges that it was too slow that somehow it becomes boring and some words were unnecessarily emphasized. I also believe that some of her lyrics were wrong. But i do love how she's able to express the emotions embedded in the song.

i hate how the judges contradict themselves. one week, they tell them to figure out who they are, and to stick to what they're good at. then the next week, they tell them to take more risks and try something new. they also tell them to change up the songs to make them their own, then when the contestants actually do that, the judges tell them they should have left the song alone and they changed the arrangement too much. how the hell are the contestants supposed to know what to do?

She got the boot and no talent Paige continue????? Ellen and Kara have been giving out bad advice to the girls and screwed them. I like this performance by Katelyn. I wish she, Lacey, and Lilly were still there and no talent like Paige and all the guys were booted instead.

it's a good rendition, however, i do agree with the judges that it was too slow that somehow it becomes boring and some words were unnecessarily emphasized. I also believe that some of her lyrics were wrong. But i do love how she's able to express the emotions embedded in the song.

I LOVE her version of this. the judges kept saying it was too slow, but I think it's relaxing. Definately something I would listen to before bed (which is a good thing!)

im a huge fan of Coldplay and the key that she picked and the way she changed it is not what i like. I love chris martin's voice and im just super used to his voice and i dont really like this performance. I understand that many people like her voice, and to each his own. It's just too slow and kind of annoying, but i don't dislike her.

it was awesome when Katelyn sung it! i enjoyed hers better than the coldplay version, her's just seemed like more emotion, a higher range of vocals, and her unique voice. it's the best song i enjoy from her on idol so far. meganrenee<3

I'm a big fan of Coldplay and this song is one of my favorite songs of Coldplay.
Katelyn sang it beautifully and she did bring up what the judges meant with "UNIQUENESS" and she did a great job! Go Katelyn!
