  • this song is brilliant

i hope my ears won't be hurt after this

  • /watch?v=ieRAnGHRjEc <--- FUNNEHHH! :D

  • They sound like interpol but better , nice

  • f*ckin genius!! Old Editors rocks!!

  • skitsnygg gitarr, fantastiskt bra band

  • What a voice !!!!

    He really can sing.

I can hear the ghost of Joy Division, New Order and all the best from British music.

They moved me . I'm really impressed.

  • Tom <3 <3

  • nothing short of amazing

  • EDITORS FOREVER !!!!!!!!!

  • listen to your heart, in rage against a world that make you sick, and finaly weak !

  • nothing to reject on this version, powerfull, great.

    Social !!!!!!

  • En galego "marabilloso" é con B. : )

  • marabillosos. i love

  • maravillosos.

  • Most powerfull song ever!

  • WICKED! GREAT SONG!

  • pwerfulsong im just absolutely adoring this band!

  • just an incredibly good song. gets me every time. yes of course it reminds one of joy division but there's nothing wrong with being influenced. ian curtis died in may of 1980.

  • Thought provoking, anyway a superb song from a very underated band ☺

  • are they realy underated? i dont think so maybe a few years ago (the back door) but when that album came out it was a mercury award winning album sold 2mil copies and it was a success and the end has a start album thats even bigger

  • ☻☻☻What's the disease he's singing about?☻☻☻

  • A few people discussed this in the comments a long time ago. The best argument in my opinion, was that the disease is a kind of metaphor for something that's giving you a hard time in life for the moment. The message is to not let it bring you down and keep on going.

  • Rage is the disease that we dont need. Its something that life turns you towards,a bitterness that life teaches us through bad experiences."You dont need this disease, not right now".Dont waste your youth full of anger and bitterness, enjoy your innocence while it lasts.Thats my opinion anyway.

  • It does say rage at the start? it would make sense anyways

  • Rage is just the TV Channel or similar that the video has been captured from, you can see that in a lot of TV-ripped music videos :)

  • rage is an all-night Australian music video program, broadcast since 1987. No presenters, no ads, no talking, just artist and song title.

  • A perfect reply. I was thinking the same thing. A very over looked band. That song when first heard it ,on the radio.Just reached out and grabbed me.Bought the album the next day

  • @simon1000 Maybe he means war? That would fit with the title.

  • Comment removed

  • this song proves me why this is one of the most important contemporary bands, freaking astonishing

  • cool video!

  • big johnny, Rick astley mate are you fuckin takin the piss? Quite clearly you are, if he sounds like rick astley, then i'm liam and noel gallagher in one

  • I love the way it kicks in after the instrumental!!

  • you don't need this disease <3

  • brilliant.

  • Version 2 is alot better

  • this is different to the album version, but i prefer this one, its brilliant

  • It's all in the video description ;) Version 1 of the video uses the album version. I've uploaded that one as well :)

  • goosbumps!!

  • are u deaf

  • Damn, you're right.

    What the fuck?

  • In a good way

  • You don't need this Disney Channel?

  • haha thats a good one!

  • My friend has always thought it sounds a bit like "You don't need these sissies". Not so bad either :)

  • Great tune! Comes pretty damn close to an end has a start! Im assuming rage is supposed to be the disease he refers to.

  • meh

  • This song made my day...

  • Yes, there is an earlier music video for this song, which I uploaded this weekend. Just search for version 1 to see it ;)

  • i keep on forgetting to which song the clip goes with the girl on the run

  • Smokers outside the hospital doors.

  • Thanks x

  • It's awesome, all, song+video. I love Editors so much!

  • Editors Are Cool!!

  • Amazing sound.

  • awwsuummmeeeeeee :)

  • Great video:

    5 stars!

  • the best song! <33333333

  • The chorus sends a shiver down my spine....great song, great band!

  • ja man

  • no, the rolling stones are the best band ever, and queen is also quite (very, very) good

  • You put the Rolling stones before queen! (head spins around 3 times and explodes! blood and brains everywhere :D )

  • My british Favorite Group with The cure...

  • love this :)

  • Yep Yep Yep , greeting from france, we like editors!

  • which album is this from?

  • The Back Room, released in 2005. You would have got a quicker answer by just searching on the internet :)

  • You guys should have heard this song LIVE,

it would blow you away !

    Even better than this..

  • Indeed, saw it at Lowlands in Holland. Everyone singing along, Tom going crazy, awesome!

  • and i mean Editors. I am still a bit nervous with me writing english.

  • i like U2 and i also like Ediotrs, but i can't see the resemblance between them.

  • can someone explain me the so called resemblance between u2 and editors?? as far as i know, u2 sucks in general, and editors kicks f'n ass. i don't get it.

  • no, u2 do not suck they're differnet types..

  • I agree, U2 dont have much good singles for their popularity, its stupid if u ask m.. Som are good, but the rest are normal..

And yes they are often compared to U2, but I dont understand why... One is obviously the best band in the actuality, the other "died" sometime ago..

  • U2 not good? omg..

    its the best band ever!!

and they have enough good singles!

  • Ok, my mistake xD

I meant, their songs dont reflect their popularity... my oppinion lol

  • ok..

u2 got big songs!! thats why they're popular!

  • They don't need this ford fiesta!

  • awesome voice, the best likeness to the late great ian curtis ive ever heard

  • ? Are u kiding? Tom Smith rocks! I doubt even Ian could beat him, if u dont believe m hear the last track from their second album, An End Has A Start...

  • nice lyrics!

  • i guess you are kidding cause though i like this song lyrics are quite "simple"

  • I mean aren't lol

  • this is....manic....

  • Brilliant.

  • Someone said that this seams like U2. It's a really mistake because it better than U2. Of course the Editors have some inspiration on 80's UK Pop but it is more than that. Editors is a 'gift' a really strong band.

    long life to Editors.

  • i love this song so much, but does anyone else think the corous sounds like u2 "walk away" or, just me?

  • q buenos que son

  • Damn, the really look like U2 and Joy division together. Join the club of the greatest people in the world!

  • Esta buena esta rola!!! Esta chingona xD me gusta la cancion!!!

  • briliant

  • he kinda looks like Bono- back in the days of Rattle and Hum

  • I think they have had a strong influence form U2. Listen to the guitar in their first albums like Boy and War, you'll notice they sound very similar.

Btw, these guys are awesome live!

  • It's not a U2 influence as such, more a post-punk influence. U2's first 2 albums were firmly rooted in post-punk hence the similarities.

  • I don't agree. The U2 influence is clear.

But I recognize it's not sheer imitation, they have developed their own style. Good lads. They rock!

  • chris<3

  • I really love these guys! i found this other band doing similar stuff, check them out. they're called tidal district and their song aces is amazing!

  • Editors=Interpol+Joy Division

  • my favourite editors song

  • also for me...

  • vi amo

  • great, great. saw them in naples...thanks for 'you are fading' and 'fingers in the factories',guys...but 'the weight of the world'? ahhhh...you're great,anyway...thanks a lot

  • Wieght of the world is like, their 2nd best song to fingers?

Neways back on topic: Great vid, love the swoops that arent in the album version!

  • Sorry,I didn't understand,I'm italian,my english isn't so good, you said that Weight of the World is their best song after Fingers in the Factories or what? However my fav Editors songs are Bullets,The Weigth of the World,Escape the Nest,Fingers in the Factories,Blood,Munich,Find Yourself a Safe Place,Bones,Fall,Spiders,Someone Says,Come Share the View(too much? What can I say,I love Editors!)and their great versions of Orange Crush by REM,Lullaby by The Cure and Road to Nowhere by Talking Heads.

  • i think the girl in the BOB haircut(the one kicking the soccer ball) is sooo freakin cute.. i would sooooo date her..

  • My favourite band off all time...I know every word for every song cause i'm cool xD

  • Amazing, I love this band <3

  • amazing

  • super support von R.E.M in Berlin...geiiillll

  • i think this song is about a turning point in life when you decide to get a handle on your life. the disease is metaphoric for something in your life you want to get rid of, something what teases you somehow. with this energy it shows the will to live.

  • i saw them on some boat on sunday.

They where looking at my hair o.O

But they looked cool , and our car stood behind their tour bus .

  • (L) loooooooooove them!! amazing song

    fantastic video

  • True comment

  • i love this song. :')

the meaning is so powerful and clear.

its like telling me i dont need my ed.

  • i love this song!

  • Beast of a tune!

  • I bought yesterday here in Argentina "the back room" :D. the "bullets" version that cames with it, its like this one in the video. I love editors

  • love this song

  • his voice LIVE is better than CD.

    oooh yeah (Y)

    a va deg me :)

  • I Love this song,

I saw Editors Live on pinkpop

it was unbelievable, his voice is so amazing

I will never forget it :)

  • awesome very vety catchy song...... I like this band awesome post punk new wave sound. The influences of this band show , this guy has listened a lot the mission joy division and many new wave post punk bands...

  • EPIC!

  • the editors are BRILIANT!! i saw them live yesterday, it was amazing, the editors give you energie:D

  • His voice reminds me of John Cale (Velvet Underground) I like it.

  • I like the ending in this version, I guarantee it would look awesome on stage! I had the pleasure of seeing the Editors live a few months back, and as someone else commented on here, it does indeed make your balls tingle...

  • ase poco conosco editors,me impresionan,,que buena banda,,esa vos unica,,,,amo la buena música,, y claro me estoy enamorando de esta banda

  • epic...

  • i love this song!! and band!! freaking ace!

  • it´s the will to live. the song. the video.

  • ♥

  • interpol?? oh my god........

  • I prefer this version to the rest, the bridge is more epic.

  • Exactly my thoughts, the bridge is brilliant here, the album evrsion should have been like this.. one of their better songs, love the energy in this song

  • the video is nice. but the album version sure is better, the final part in this version isn't very attractive

  • I dont know why but these always remind me of joy division, maybe its the singers voice, sounds a little like Ian Curtis.

  • a little?

    lol

  • shut up ya gimp

  • gritty and real

  • its just such a powerful song

    best band out there

    oh and SET YOUR GOALS

  • werchter here i come ^_^

i haven't heard these guys live yet!

    so excited!

  • i'm seeing them at leeds fest, makes my balls tingle

  • I'm going too :D

Kings of Leon, Hives and Editors Ö yeeha.

  • Seen The Editors last year backing Franz Ferdinand. Saw the hives a few weeks back. Best gig I have ever been to. Totally fantastic band. The Editors are good, but this is their only great song in my opinion.

  • why don't you like All Sparks for example or Blood?

  • yes or munich or smokers or an end has a start?

  • this is their best song. right. but, franz ferdinand? where will they be in about one year? hives are great, sure, but ff...mmmm...

  • Beutifoul song... i love

  • forgot to say - that this video is fantastic. completely captures the song and the anger in it.

  • i love ur songs

hope u have sucess wherever u go

  • another amazing song

  • My fav song from their 1st album..Im gonna see them for the second time tomorrow night!

Im pretty excited. Tom is very aware of his presence on stage!

  • this single version is immense, listening to it is like having the air knocked out of you..crashing into a wall at 50mph. such a powerful song

so why did they feel the need to dilute it on the back room..completely ruined. i love the album, and for me it is perfection except for bullets. while its still a masterpiece in my eyes..if they'd have had this version of bullets on there it would have been flawless. shame

  • Couldn't agree more. This is my favourite song by Editors, and the fact that it's not on the original album is quite disturbing.

  • the middle 8 into the last chorus is what makes the song! and its not on the album, shocker :|
