  • Friday 1st October 1999 ... remember this day so well ... happened to be the day my nan died as well ... :( Love this song though ... Cymru am byth !!!!!!!!!!

  • Brings back great memories. I was here singing in the children's choir!

  • best virsiion brought tears to my eyes

  • this is still the best version, the 2011 version was nice

  • Best sporting song ever. Hands fucking down.

  • trousers down on the kiwi effort, will always be the best rendition

  • @joeprosho When you've got a whole welsh choir behind ya Hell yeah it is gonna be the best. This kiwi would never argue against that. He's not that stupid.:) Is my second favourite. Hard to beat the 95 version and that was only by tempo only.

  • brilliant!

  • OMG this is the best version of it live

  • @agentstick sadly buddy, they weren't live cos of the wind. was the recording hence her not actually singing and smiling instead for some of it

  • Make me an Aussie one and I WILL wear it, and I am a bloke!!

  • wha colours heels is shirley wearing does anyone know??

  • @welshdude56 looks like white

  • Getting goosebumps, beautiful worlds

  • I'm speechless. Goosebumps all over. :o)

  • Can't believe they mimed it!

  • @tontohurley they did not mime this you cant get that echo in a studio like you do in a stadium

  • @welshslim20 yes they did, cos the weather was typically welsh and totally shite!! haha

  • best one of the lot.

  • They were Miming... I was there, I can remember looking at their mouths and thinking.... Thats Not Right

  • Absolutely brilliant. Shirley Bassey's incredible. Can you believe you're looking and listening to a woman that sung Bond themes in the 1960s? She looks and sounds like a woman at the height of her career.

  • mp3iffy is the best site to get this mp3. google mp3iffy.

  • @ForrestGunner Ha ha good one!! However the Australian Aboriginals will beat us both, give em a carton of Alcohol and they'll scream the house down LOL!!!

Wallabies 100 NZ and Wales 0 - ha ha ha

  • the welsh are just born with awesome voices.

  • However corny, it makes you proud to be British, even more so if you are Welsh

  • @bluebolt86 lol welsh were culturally the original "british"...time for you anglo types to relearn your ancestors celtic tongues :) ;)

  • Shirley.

    What a gal.

  • Not as good as the '95 RWC version sung by PJ Powers and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

  • @mjribes I agree with you. This version is okay but I find the South African version by PJ Powers the BEST.

  • Falch i fod yn Gymro!

  • I would have liked to be in the stadium!!

that must be a great feeling :)

  • This song brings a tear to my eye every time, and I'm not even a Rugby fan

  • Brilliant post!

This brings back such wonderful memories. I was in the stadium that day and saw Bryn and Dame Shirley perform. I also met the man who became my husband there. It was Wales v's Argentina, and I now live in Rosario Argentina, but still a proud Taffy :) Thank you so much for sharing.

    Vamos Wales.....Cymru am Byth

  • Shirley has an awesome dress one.....

... 1 would wear it myself.... except I'm a bloke!

  • @maxfm82 I thought it made Wales look cheap actually.... I don't like clothes with flags on them... Sorry about that!

  • David. Shirley and Kiri have class. That's why the Queen made them Dames.

  • what is the language Bryn sings this in? I have him singing in that language on a CD and that is truly the ultimate version. His voice touches your soul in the true spirit of the song

  • Welsh

  • Bryn sings in Welsh.

  • Amazing recording of an amazing song. One thing - It's the 'Wales' Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Not the Wells stadium. Sorry but us Welsh can be stickly about these kind of things! Thanks

  • Maybe the best of all the versions on here - and the Kiri Te Kanawa one takes some beating!
