  • Pretty rippin' Franklin's, too.

  • oh yah- i remember seeing these shows- damn hot!

  • Wow..I was this show. Hitchhiked after breaking down on the NJ Turnpike. Got picked up by some heads and slept on a grass parking lot after the show. Bus to Baltimore and train back to New Brunswick the next day.

    I love this era of GD.( 82/ 84 )

This was a monumental Help/Slip/Franklins in my book. (2nd set began at sunset, and by the time Space started the stars were out.

    Great memories.

This show also played the first ever Why dont we do it in the road.

  • I love 82-85, sure some of the lyrics get flubbed but some of my favorite shows come out of those years.

  • @Mu51ch3r3

I am with you - that period has some of my favorite sets ever. Also has some clunkers. But the sound of Lesh's first set of Modulus 6-string basses were dominating, and when JG was *on* he was ripping some badass guitar.

  • Just a shot of jerry looking over top of his glasses is enough to take me back to this show and what a show it was as was the night before, these guy's loved merriweather and back in these day's you could send for a tour book of tickets which got you a ticket for every night on that tour, how much cooler could it have been?

  • Jerry may have had issues at this point, but it sure did not affect his playing here. As good a Slipknot as one could ask for.

  • Jer had more stage charisma than most

He was afterall just being himself

  • amazing....

  • Everybody had a problem with jerry not looking at anybody on stage ,no talking to the audience and his drug use i mean when the cat is playing like this let him go.I am pretty sure everybody on stage was no angel Hey Phil the heineken years and powder you loved same with billy and mickey had his demons as well. Why did everyone have to pick on garcia isn't that like calling the kettle black when you are doing a habit maybe jerry loved his persian it is an easy drug to love trust me.

  • this was one of the shows on the first whole tour that I did - amazing!!!

  • OMFG, I was there. Who was doing vid in '84?! Thank you for posting!

  • Holy shit! This was my first show, I was 14. I can't believe this is on Youtube! Thank you so much!

  • I was at this one too ~ camping both nights ~ good times!

  • i love LOVE finding shows i had the luck of attending!!! plus it helps me see how many shows i was at! LOL

  • sweetness right here, baby.

  • Can ya remember the way it was. Hope you are resting by that waterside, Jerry...
