  • High feed milling with a four inch cutter in tool speed at 280 rpm 110 ipm will sound like a machine gun or at least a deep base sound. Severe metal removal.

  • He is using a cnc milling machine. He is not very good at it. The first cutter was a facemill, he was "climbing" and conventional" cutting. (he changed the side of cutter he was using.

  • What does it matter when it is just roughing? Its good to keep tool cutting all the time because only removed material matters.. ;)

  • He can feed faster, The difference is about 50 percent more tool life if not more. Plus he could take a deeper cut. It should sound like a heavy machine gun if he is just roughing.

  • @circe362 Are you crazy? It should NOT sound like a heavy machine gun. If that is happening that that means you tool is chattering and that should NOT be happening. That will give you a bad finish as well as damaging your tool.

  • Not crazy. Just skilled. Mind you I don't run a small pansy machine. So the pitch might be higher, but you should hear the impact of the tool hitting the material and the pressure through the cut. It should sound like a machine gun.

  • Well that's not what I've been taught.

  • look up Iscar feed mills

  • I did. And that doesn't tell me anything.

  • Roughing is intended to remove stock fast with little concern of accuracy or finish. I agree with keeping the cutter cutting at all times. Read up on chip thinning. He could start at the edge and make a rectangle like spiral till he got to the center. Just as you would mow a lawn. If he engages 70 percent of the diameter at all times he could easily feed at 170 ipm. Notice the sound when he feeds climb verses conventional. Climb throws the chips back and conventional throws the chips forward.

  • it looks to mee like a breast :o

I wonder how he do this ? did he draw it on a computer in 3D and the robot is making it from the 3D Model by it self O_O ?

or hes is controling the robots arme manually ?

  • @iRouRoui It's not a robot. Do you know anything about machine tool? o.0

  • What are you making?
