I mentioned this in another video on Mad Fiber but to date (Feb 2012) I have done about 4,500 km on my Tubulars with ceramic bearings. These are seriously strong and stiff wheels. To the guy who said he would destroy them, I'd love to see it. I live in Thailand and the roads are hell here, especially after it rains. I have punished the hell out of these and they are flawless. Like all deeper rims they can be slightly twitchy in stronger cross winds. These are great strong all rounders.
I'm not going to say they would "lead the market", but optimizing the aerodynamics of the wheelset would definitely wield a much more refined and better performing product that would interest a wider range of consumers.
Just ordered a set of these two weeks ago after demoing for a couple of rides! Also demo'd 404 tubes and Mavic Ultimates. These wheels were significantly stiffer and faster that than the other two! They freakin' rock!
revolutionary wheel, i must say. The question is how it would break when crashed. The ribbon spokes wont be sharp, but what about the rim? Is it UCI legal yet?
@Brycycleification Yeah, but having to send the wheels back to the factory sucks - especially if you have a race coming up. The only non-adjuustables wheels that I never had a problem with were the Specialized Trispokes (I think they were made by HED, but I can't remember). I think I'll stick to wheels that have nipples.
@Brycycleification That being said...these wheels look awesome. If they weren't $2600/pr I'd have purchased them. I'm thinking more like $1800 to be competitive with Reynolds and Mavics.
i would like to see it in action, looks awesome thou.
one thing it got my attention is, when you say that it would last 50 years, and as today i knew that carbon fiber tends to become somewhat flexible within 1 or 2 years depending on the usage.
総重量約1kgはスゴい。剛性高いみたいだから壊れる心配は無いかもしれないが、ホイールバランスは微妙そう。

Is there any danger it will suddenly shatter?

Good Idea for spokes but fabric as orientation for a spoke does not make sense. I would prefer the lightweight stuff.

I personally own Mavic semi monocoat wheels. Carbon fibre. They are super fast. They are tubular like non other.
However in your piece technology I have notice one thing about these types of super light carbon wheels is vibration.
On road surfaces up to full speed and trying to achieve maximum 100 % r.p.m. speed is vibration.
Vibration can be very distracting.
As frame set is carbon fibre as well.
Have you thought of developing a dampening layer in the modulation of construction of your wheel?

Now they're $2900.

Superb Wheels, probably would be more nice if they build the 85-100mm profile :)

if they could look into improving the aero profile of the rims , these wheels would be the hands down market leader for performance

Lightweight wheel from Germany are lighter, stiffer, and the best product on the market.
antoniomazzaro 10 months ago
@antoniomazzaro you can't ignore the price, and on that note, madfiber is about half while with no rider weight limit to boost.

You should also mention the difference ceramic bearings vs standarf bearings.

All wheels go untrue even if they are 100 carbon fiber. Not being able to true this means they are worthless once they start to wobble.

@m015094 the ideal wheel would be: - strong - light - cheap
but in the real world, between those options, choose two.

already started saving up my pennies hopefully in a few months i will own a pair of these.

Woah those spokes are wicked
Around $2600 which isn't bad considering what it offers.
But I wouldn't considered it to be bullet proof. If you run into some problems... Don't think your LBS could figure it out.
