i read that on lsd john lennon thought he was christ, and brought the other beatles together to tell them. did he consiounsly try to "immitate" christ?
or was it unconsiouss? becuase i definately see a parallel.
The glasses Lennon and Ghandi used are typical British National Health issue of the 1930's and 40's. They are exactly the same type given "free" to subjects of the British empire by the government's social health program. John first got his famous "Granny Glasses" as a prop for his small role in the Richard Lester film "How I Won the War" in 1966. Ghandi most likely got his due to the fact that India was a part of the British Empire at the time...
By the way BTW Sonny Bono was murdered because he was about to expose top US government political figures who were (are transporting drugs into the USA.I luv u-tube (google search 4 info
tell me more, eversince I saw a movie in my social studies class about Ghandi I just kept thinking how similar John Lennon was to him and how John must have taken a lot of wisdom from from, and the glasses.
It is true that the last portion of this interview see's John in a more optimistic frame of mind than I think i have ever seen him in, in an interview. Its difficult to tell with John though, whether this was a deep everlasting optimism. Remeber after this there was still alot of turmoil to go through for John- heroin addiction, primal therepy, lost weekend etc. Love the footage of him talking to the students though. A real relic of the sixties. Might as well be 100 years ago from today.
You would be surprised at how many people aren't completely brainwashed.. its that "they" have found ways to make us feel like we are all alone but we are not! They seem to make sure that our musicians etc.. don't have a voice anymore other than looking pretty and making cash.. So we don't have a leader... so those of us that are aware need to all be leaders.
John's boundless optimism in the last portion of this interview bears an eerie similarity - down to the language used! to his optimism during his last interview, on the morning of December 8, 1980. 11 years prior, on December 2, 1969, it is striking to hear so enthusiastic about the future, given that it has often been mentioned that it wasn't until the very end, that he managed to find peace and happiness. I don't think that's true. To judge from this, I think his happiest years began in 1969..
Man of the Century for me too!

@minchingpennys Yeah, but Lennon himself nicked them off Gandhi. It's probably the same pair of specs ;-)
