Well, if you examine the pre-war government in the game, it was awfully corrupt. If you go to point lookout, have a glance at the relief camp's terminal. Once you're done with that, get a look at Vault-Tec's vault terminals (this will take some time and labor). This should give you a clear image of just what Americans were dealing with just before the apocalypse.
The Enclave is telling the truth when they call themselves the in-game remnant US government. Their behavior reflects this.
In those vaults, what you want is the Overseers' orders. Knowing that should save you the trouble of having to rifle through every single terminal like I had to. I haven't gone to Vault-Tec headquarters yet (I'm going to tonight), so this may all be information which is accessible from that point. If so, that should save you a lot of time and illustrate the same point.
Oh! And head over to the Capitol Post in L'Enfant Plaza. Those articles you see on loading screens are there.

I don't entirely understand how this is a response to what I said, but I resonate with your sentiments. In a game built around free choice players should be able to join any faction they please. That said, you're talking about the New Vegas setting, in which the Enclave has already been reduced to the single digits and has essentially zero resources. It would be interesting to see an option to join the remnants and rebuild the Enclave in an expansion, but that's unlikely.

I want'd to join enclave in fallout 3. The best I did was inject a virus to kill anything. But still I never felt complete knowing that they were dead in Washington, not counting the survivors scattered throughout the wastes.

@aCroatianSensation They created the FEV virus which broke out and turned everything that it touched into supermutants, therefore they created them. Rad Scorpions, Death claws, rad roaches etc were created from vault-tec in their secret vault which eventually failed and all experiments escaped. Read fallout wiki

Loved this radio when I first played Fallout 3. The game felt so new and unique, this music also made it feel like you were truly in the United States.

I havent engaged any enclaves yet (bought this game recently, i personally prefer new vegas but this is good) but what ive read about them on the wiki, they sound like jerks... i mean, they consider anyone who has left the vault a mutant or something...
It'd be pretty nice if you were able to actually have a decently long quest line with the Enclave like you do with the BoS. Even though you can "help" Eden by inserting the FEV into Project Purity and blow up the Citadel, the Enclave are still hostile to you. I mean that you can do similar missions like with the BoS but on the Enclaves side and also be able to stay at Raven Rock which has all the same services that The Citadel does.

We won't be able to completely eliminate Fascism. And in democratic societies, it's debatable whether we should even try. I personally believe that Fascism is too dangerous to be allowed to gain political representation, because it is by its very nature an anti-democratic movement and thus runs counter to the purpose of allowing Fascists democratic representation in the first place. Anti-democratic movements of all stripes have no place in a democratic society.

I don't entirely understand how this is a response to what I said, but I resonate with your sentiments. In a game built around free choice players should be able to join any faction they please. That said, you're talking about the New Vegas setting, in which the Enclave has already been reduced to the single digits and has essentially zero resources. It would be interesting to see an option to join the remnants and rebuild the Enclave in an expansion, but that's unlikely.

I am glad we share the same opinion of free choice in a game, as well as that of giving a new Enclave group a chance, seeing as it might do far better without its leadership so heavily corrupted. (But from the description of how deeply the NCR's hatred for the Enclave go on the fallout wiki, that would take some serious negotiating effort I think)

Rad Scorpions, Death claws, rad roaches etc were created from vault-tec in their secret vault which eventually failed and all experiments escaped. Read fallout wiki

It'd be pretty nice if you were able to actually have a decently long quest line with the Enclave like you do with the BoS. Even though you can "help" Eden by inserting the FEV into Project Purity and blow up the Citadel, the Enclave are still hostile to you. I mean that you can do similar missions like with the BoS but on the Enclaves side and also be able to stay at Raven Rock which has all the same services that The Citadel does.
