The best / cheapest p plater car i know is the s13 silvia sr20de (non turbo) they dont break(if they do there is unlimited spare parts cheap), easy on fuel, go way fast enough to kill yourself but the best bit is the way they drive. they are stiff and u can feel everything (real drivers cars). U can thrash em around town and not be goin way over the speed limit but they still can do burnouts/drift in dry and rain.

ahh yes they can if they are on the exemptions list at the RTA site. There is a supercharged mercedes and turbo a4 along with others that don't apply to the rules. Don't ask me why they are allowed and not a skyline or silvia but most likely the RTA didn't think the cars were that powerful even though they do 0-100 in a reasonable 7 second range.

All you have to do is go down to your local RTA and say hey I own this car can I apply for an exemption. Chances are the person will be a real ass and not give you the form or will be polite and kindly ask what car it is. I have one friend who drives an A4 1.8T who has had no trouble. Also know a girl who drives a E200K Mercedes. She got pulled over and questioned but showed her exemption form. Most people are not aware of the rules. I have a family friend who works in the RTA.

Ok, im gonna draw a few issues here. a VL 6 with NO turbo, is NOT a high powered performance car. seriously, 117 kW? even with $2000 worth of non turbo engine mods you still wont see more than 140 kW, so thats not a quick car is it. No restrictions in WA, but the M3 E36 isn't restricted in NSW. It has either 286 horsepower or 321 horsepower in it's 3 and 3.2L forms. It's a bit expensive but it's not on the list. haha

@aazz0099z I own a 1994 Series 1 Skyline R33 GTS , they do come out of factory non turbo infact alot of them did, None of the N/A v6 are to powerfull for 200kw p plate regulations (in QLD) It isn't at all hard to find a non turbo skyline in good condition. The skyline engine on the video is a single turbo 2.5L. RB20E, RB20DE, RB25DE, RB30 or RB30 S (Carb) infact RB26DETT Engines unmodified are only just over regulation of 206kw, The engines came out in both SOHC and DOHC. N/A Skylines= easy find
