  • No matter what song this man sings I could listen over and over, Brilliant

  • Beautiful, thank you for sharing......Peace

  • imacrashman2-Your comments are so true. I grew up reading and listening to this man. Rod McKuen has influenced me so much and I'm very grateful that we have had him in our lives.

  • McKuen is a genius. Not only in the lyrics he writes but the arrangements of his songs. There is so much to listen to in one of his recordings. He also possesses a quality in his voice that makes listener feel the lyrics deeply.

  • Better than Glenn Yarbrough's version. Almost as good as Jimmie Rodgers' version.

  • I choke up every time I hear this song. Can't help it. It's so beautiful.

  • THE BEST ON MY BIRTHDAY THANKS ROD

  • First timer hearing his voice. NICE, nice voice.

  • thanks very much... i am enjoying the playlist ...

  • ...some people relate to the song this song a~bit different.....

    underlying message... being gay...or bi-sexual....!

  • This is the first time I've heard this version, wow. It just works.

  • Love this song! have always loved this man's voice and his words have been in my mind for years. I used to own all his books, but they got lost over the years. Wish I could find a man like this. I would love him with all I had to give. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • @LadyAvis I've loved this song since first hearing in the 60's, but the lyrics tell us he was a wildman in the past, is presently living a lie in a relationship doomed for failure for he'll return to wild ways someday, he'll leave ya! correct?

  • @cliffworks4321 He loves her, but he knows that something will call him, and he'll go. Had it happen more than once [with girls, not guys]. Most relationships fail; it just depends on which one is blind, and gets left [and hurt].

  • @jonbocz my comments were meant for those who think the song is a happy one about happier, gentler days of yesteryear which it is not at all; the lyrics suggest something or some trait in his past will come calling and he'll have to go, but Rod doesn't reveal exactly what that would be; he wrote to me about a year ago and confirmed my understanding is correct, if my memory serves me he wrote the song originally had a different title.

  • Anyone know where a version of "One Day Soon" is? I'd love to see that posted. I can't find it anywhere and gave my only copy of it away ... *sniffle*

  • who knows and can uoload the song "philadelphia".....?

    the best.....

  • Poetic - Melodic - Economic. What more does one need in a song?

  • I like this song very much.

And I've been looking for this version for a long time.

The old familiar song in my university days.

  • ooh, I'd forgotten this one. Thanks for posting it.

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this. One of my favorites from so long ago...
