The duet is not creepy if you understand how important it is to many men that they pass on their life lessons and gifts unto someone who will truly understand and appreciate them. When I was young this was just a fun movie. But now at 25 in the quiet of my room... There is allot of myself in Shando. It is terribly sad yet moving and inspiring. I grew up surrounded by art but was forced to interpret it all myself. I never had someone to truly, TRULY help my gifts flourish. But this is so valuable
It's a cute scene. I do have to agree the song is a bit weird viewing it now. I think they are trying to imply that Teetor was a lot like Sando in his younger years and he recognizes this in Shando, thus viewing him as a friend and maybe as a potential successor. My imagination almost makes me wonder if Antonym was also a close student of Teetor's at one time, then drifted apart? I wish I could find the books this movie was based on.
