I got to enjoy 1 more year with him after that and he finally told me his WW2 stories. Somethings people never forget....
@thenrp2 I agree with you 100%! @romulus310 They are just watching a random movie. It was a way to pass the time, because they were to deploy that day, but it got pushed back. So as something to do, they watched the movie. The man who was reading a letter was basically reading that his brother was killed. It was given to another soldier, but that soldier didn't want to tell him (I forgot y) so he put it in his jacket and switched the jackets.

@deeperm16 so did my uncles , just that I have more attention to my grandfather because he served in the two major battles in Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima . he is on the cover of a book/documentary called the War
@The105ODST mine fought the germans in the battle of Bastogne, Belgium. Never talked about it for the rest of his life, and died before i was born. Its all too bad we cant learn the stories from our own family members about wars and life favors. Peace be with you
@capps4242 i now one of my great uncles was in the 82nd and was killed during one of the drops into france and most of my great uncles where in world war 2 only a few are still alive
I it actualy was clever of those women because they gained the thrust of the germans. sometimes the germans gave them food when the normal people didnt have anything to eat like in the winter of 1944, Sorry if i spelled something wrong.
They gained the trust of the germans for not only sleep with them, also betraying hiding places of jews.. in 1944 betraying 1 jew was worth 24 "gulden". Nowadays its around 200 euros.
@Knighttemplar1994 your right but, you were considered a traitor and hated amoung the country, i would rather myself starve then fall to the enemy. js
you cant feel bad for those women they chose to be basically whores at least they didnt kill them they just shaved there heads and put the nazi sighn on them lol
wait im so confused. why were they doing that? and who was oding it? the americans to the nazi women? or... chicks who made out w soldiers...? i dont get it
they we're collaborating wuith nazis, they did the same thing hitler youth did...they denounced people who where jews or those who didn't agree with the nazi
as i sead to the guy who made added "the kill by some gay band " to a clip of band of brothers......... not cool.. even tho this one fits the mood more then the other one...
Rock and roll my ass. Who little Richard , Elvis, maybe Jerry lee lewis?? These guys would have been listening to Glen Miller. For these times this song fits like a glove and the choreoghraphy is perfect but definitely not rock and roll.
OK IF HITLER HADNT MADE THE WESTERN FRONT AGAINST THE RUSSIANS, GEMRANY WOULD OF WON ALL OF EUROPE and then the world would have been a totaly different place.
But he did, because he was stressed and overconfident in his abilities after his initial sucess as a military leader. He led his people to believe in themselves, and then abandoned them when he shot himself in the head with a capsule between his teeth.
He could've been something better. He was misunderstood. That doesn't excuse what he did to the German people, or to the millions of Jews.
As you are likely posting this to madden people, I suspect you already know that.
First of all you mean Eastern front again Russia. And 2, why think that because the Eastern front couldent be avoided because Russia were Allies so they HAD to attack Germany. But i know what you mean... and yes they may of won.
No they won't. Don't forget US in the end was the first to finish making an atomic bomb.
So in a sense, whatever happened in the ETO was irrelevant. Even Hitler defeated the Allies the German were still going to lose the war. All it took just one or two atomic bombs.
But for those soliders who fought in the Battle of Bulge, and the D-Day, and every other battles, of course at that time did not aware of that.
I've read that early in the war, Stalin was considering forming an alliance with the National Socialists. Wouldn't that have been scary, the Nazis and the Red Army fighting together. The atomic bombs would have fallen over Europe for sure if that happened.
Whilst your bang on the money there, that Stalin and Hitler were very close at the start of the war, and were basically allies, It was never going to last to the extent where Russia, Japan and Germany would ally to fight together, as both Hitler and Stalin had aggresive policies in Eastern Europe, so any alliance there would have more likely than not imploded in on itself for that reason, not to mention and number of 'what ifs' and ideological differences
yep, pretty much germany let english troops go,then decided after wards to attack their home base in Britain,im not making this up,this really did happen
i think if the united states hadnt had to fight the japanese in the pacific that would have added marine divisions to help out in europe so i think if we had done that the U.S. would have taken berlin instead of the russians but all of the countrys fought and died together so it doesnt matter to me
nah i dont think it was luck it was a combo, hitler started goin nuts n killed off sum of his better generals, the allies the gained control of the skies which in turn assisted the ground troops, and the troops themselves were highly skilled and brave
you know war wouldn't of started if some guy excepted Hitler into an art school... which is why he stole art for himself. He became to hate jews.. and there you go WW2
yep,u know germany could of ended the war in the early 1940's,germany could of slaughtered and kept prisoner the running british forces from being COMPLETELY AMBUSHED,OUT SMARTED by the german strategy, but they let them escape back to their country, because germany just wanted france to die,not britain.
America may have the strongest fire power, believe it or not, america is rated the strongest country in the world.
duh - the Russians won world war II! America was 2nd, then Japan/Germany came third (look at their industry 30 years later), Britain was last. France were disqualified for surrendering, and Italy everyone is still laughing at for having the shortest, fattest dictator on record.
None of the countries on your list won the war. They could't have done it by the brave liberation-people who destroyed trains, ships and so, so Hitlers army could't use them to support his army on the Eastern/Western front. In Scandinavia, France and other places where the only reason that YOU could take the honor in winning the war. Think about it. And plus if Hitler only had engaged Russia he would have won. It was, what..? 5-6 countrys vs 1?
dude i dont even think i have to explain why we are better. dont even start it. if your in the service, anyone will tell you. who you with anyway? again, your an idiot if you dont think we are the best. thats why the germans got pushed back and called us the shock troops and devil dogs, not the army.
its because its the army. if it were the marines, this would be amazing. marines took all the key strategic places, beallue wood, japan, all that shit. airborne suck
Look at this we got BRITS AND BRITS AND BRITS HA HA HA us have nothing to be proud of about the war america saved your ass alot of times u pussy bitches fuk u up the IRISH AND IRA
lol airborne 1940 jackass i luv british but in this movie there american u stupid twat, yea i prefer britain but this is good for america so shut your yap u quim head
the series was amazing, i love that this generation has learned to honor where we came from. i am glad all those men were willing to give their lives to defend jews and innocents. but america is in a war now. lets help them. also britian is their lol brits are cool to =) [american]
Hey this video is so heart whelming. as you just think what these soldiers had to go threw is unblelivable. Im British myself but America in my eyes are the heroes and i respect them alot for what they do and have done :) (Btw leuitenant speiers is awsome!!)
Warms my heart to see so many young people paying tribute to these true american heroes. Truely a war that needed to be fought and I don't take war lightly it's hidious and should always be the last resort.
Yeah, but you have to remember, the Italians killed his brother because they were in and around Sicily, but that'd still piss me off too. I'd kill any kraut that I saw.
nice vid and song thx but these jerries now dont acuse them for ww2 we all lost our love ones but they werent borned when ww 2 begun so....dont think im 1 of them im not but just dont acuse these nations now for something they didnt done
Why you should made a tribute video with gay ass shit music?

I it actualy was clever of those women because they gained the thrust of the germans. sometimes the germans gave them food when the normal people didnt have anything to eat like in the winter of 1944, Sorry if i spelled something wrong.

@Knighttemplar1994 more like better to live life on your back with your legs in the air then to fight injustice, but that is just my 2 cents

@Knighttemplar1994
They gained the trust of the germans for not only sleep with them, also betraying hiding places of jews.. in 1944 betraying 1 jew was worth 24 "gulden". Nowadays its around 200 euros.
dCmxMark 1 year ago
@Knighttemplar1994 your right but, you were considered a traitor and hated amoung the country, i would rather myself starve then fall to the enemy. js

Rock and roll my ass. Who little Richard , Elvis, maybe Jerry lee lewis?? These guys would have been listening to Glen Miller. For these times this song fits like a glove and the choreoghraphy is perfect but definitely not rock and roll.

OK IF HITLER HADNT MADE THE WESTERN FRONT AGAINST THE RUSSIANS, GEMRANY WOULD OF WON ALL OF EUROPE and then the world would have been a totaly different place.
pofd101 2 years ago
Yep. Totaly.
TheLollygagger 2 years ago
First of all you mean Eastern front again Russia. And 2, why think that because the Eastern front couldent be avoided because Russia were Allies so they HAD to attack Germany. But i know what you mean... and yes they may of won.
jonnyx100 2 years ago
No they won't. Don't forget US in the end was the first to finish making an atomic bomb.
So in a sense, whatever happened in the ETO was irrelevant. Even Hitler defeated the Allies the German were still going to lose the war. All it took just one or two atomic bombs.
But for those soliders who fought in the Battle of Bulge, and the D-Day, and every other battles, of course at that time did not aware of that.
wingz47v 2 years ago
I've read that early in the war, Stalin was considering forming an alliance with the National Socialists. Wouldn't that have been scary, the Nazis and the Red Army fighting together. The atomic bombs would have fallen over Europe for sure if that happened.
a55kiker 2 years ago
@a55kiker

Stewo989 2 years ago
i think if the united states hadnt had to fight the japanese in the pacific that would have added marine divisions to help out in europe so i think if we had done that the U.S. would have taken berlin instead of the russians but all of the countrys fought and died together so it doesnt matter to me
BOB7268 2 years ago
Well, if Japan hadn't attacked us we wouldn't have declared war, and probably not on Germany either, they declared war on us.
AnthoniesChannel 2 years ago
Russia taking Berlin was a political, not a military, decision.
paratrooper6 2 years ago 2
nah i dont think it was luck it was a combo, hitler started goin nuts n killed off sum of his better generals, the allies the gained control of the skies which in turn assisted the ground troops, and the troops themselves were highly skilled and brave
Hawkeye7191 2 years ago
or an easier option, if we all put petty differences aside n work together

you know war wouldn't of started if some guy excepted Hitler into an art school... which is why he stole art for himself. He became to hate jews.. and there you go WW2
mugzieman123 2 years ago
yep,u know germany could of ended the war in the early 1940's,germany could of slaughtered and kept prisoner the running british forces from being COMPLETELY AMBUSHED,OUT SMARTED by the german strategy, but they let them escape back to their country, because germany just wanted france to die,not britain.
America may have the strongest fire power, believe it or not, america is rated the strongest country in the world.
Stewo989 2 years ago
duh - the Russians won world war II! America was 2nd, then Japan/Germany came third (look at their industry 30 years later), Britain was last. France were disqualified for surrendering, and Italy everyone is still laughing at for having the shortest, fattest dictator on record.
fuqjootube 2 years ago
None of the countries on your list won the war. They could't have done it by the brave liberation-people who destroyed trains, ships and so, so Hitlers army could't use them to support his army on the Eastern/Western front. In Scandinavia, France and other places where the only reason that YOU could take the honor in winning the war. Think about it. And plus if Hitler only had engaged Russia he would have won. It was, what..? 5-6 countrys vs 1?
Shamelover1 2 years ago
i like to see healthy banter!
its drilled into you in training that whoever you join are the best!
i think in this case we worked together and conquered the enemy!
woodandy3 2 years ago
dude i dont even think i have to explain why we are better. dont even start it. if your in the service, anyone will tell you. who you with anyway? again, your an idiot if you dont think we are the best. thats why the germans got pushed back and called us the shock troops and devil dogs, not the army.
