I am not jewish, yet I have read Rabbi Kaplans books and think he is extremely gifted. His books are riveting and I personally can't even put them down. For instance his translation of Sefer Yetziriah and the Bahir is so amazing, it opens worlds. I am sorry he passed away, but he did achieve a lot in his lifetime. I am glad to finally see him. He is a gifted and talented man who is also humble and easy to understand, what a person!
When I was a teenager I attended an NCSY kumzitz in Brooklyn, for the very first time. Rabbi Kaplan spoke with a group of teenagers about premarital sex. I was amazed to see an Orthodox Rabbi speaking in clear, coherent English on - of all topics, premarital sex! I developed a bond with this great teacher and at a later time, he personally influenced me to go learn in yeshiva. You can read more about him on my blog
Thank you for posting this. R' Kaplan's written works continue to transform lives, especially his commentaries on the stories of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. The world needs him now more than ever before. If there are any audio recordings that can be made available, I'm sure they will be tremendously appreciated.
An absolute gem. He was a great man, modest and most humane. His writings are fantastic works in the collective annals of the consciousness of humankind.
I, too, am happy to finally hear Rav Kaplan whose works changed my views and opened my mind to our remarkable Jewish heritage.
As a result of studying Rav Kaplan, I eventually made Aliyah and intend to remain in Eretz HaKodesh - the only place where Torah can be fully practiced.
I am surprised to find an actual video of this great teacher. I have many of his books and miss what he could have written had he lived longer. But I am grateful for what he did share before his passing. Thank you for posting the videos.
This was sooooo amazing! I am a little emotional! After reading soooo much of his works, and them making me become observant, to see this great man, and making such a kiddush Hashem, through his incredible humility!
I have read most of his writings, and never realized how Humble Rabbi Kaplan was. He is now my favorite Torah Teacher, right there with Rabbi Twerski.
He has the gleam of life in his eyes when he teaches the Torah. He is sorely missed!
I am in shock that there are two youTube videos of the late great Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan. I must say, that I never dreamed of looking for him here, finding him only accidentally. I see he did this interview in 1979; I was so lost back then, and could have saved so much time I wasted had I saw this interview sooner. I personally own well over a dozen of his books; he is perhaps the most indispensable writer of

I absolutely love his English translation of the Torah, "The Living Torah". The footnote commentary is excellent stuff.

Yes we can meditate only if we learn the Zohar, what I can say is that this master saw the Kabbalah expanding in the future. Very good!
