@Pesceangurl Paint.net... Though that was a long time ago. This was back when we were doing a sprint demo (get as much as we can done in short amount of time, just to see how it plays). We now use Photoshop and completely changed our art direction.
What lanaguage are you using? Java? C+? how did you learn that? im currently taking classes for Video Game Programming. But is there a book you recommend? ( btw i just found out about you guys i will be watching all your episodes )
The language they are working with is C#. The best way to learn any language is to look up some tutorials or read a book (I jumped in head first, which doesn't for everyone). If you really want to learn programming, look up the "For Dumbies" series or some other How To books.
Hey sorry, for some reason we weren't notified about your comment, but did get everette0's... Weird. In any case, we are using C# with the XNA framework and utilizing the Torque X 2D engine... I do not suggest you use the Torque X 2D engine, it is a headache unless you are very good at programming. If you want to utilize the XNA framework I'd suggest any of the basic XNA game programming books out on the market they all seem to parrot each other.
unfortunatly my school is going to use Torque. not sure if its X 2D but torque none then less. My school just sent a E-book of "An Introdution to programming with C++ " of course its not the same as C# but im sure there are some simularates.
There are, C# is easier and takes care of a lot of things for you. Sadly by doing it in C++ you will not be able to port it easily for XBLA :( But hey, if you just want to make games Torque 3D Torque 2D has a lot more support than Torque X. We like C# mainly because porting it between Windows and the 360 is literally just a click away, though some tweaks are generally required for performance issues.
Oh at about 8:24ish. Yeah. Well it's a figure of speech. The Torque X 2D engine doesn't have even remotely adequate documentation and it's kind of disorganized. We have purchased a lot of books to help decipher it's more convoluted nature. Like I said it's "cheap and efficient." It works. It's not great by any stretch of the imagination, but it functions. It also has A LOT of bugs and the forum search system was broke for almost 2 months. So maybe the engine isn't stupid but the company
You guys are awesome i am thinking about getting into this i would really like to do something like this. if i send you guys messages do you think you can help me with my questions
We hope it will be a cartoon someday.I wrote episode 1 back in 2001.Then I went to college and met a co-writer.Together we found a backer. We then produced 7full scripts and mapped out 12more episodes. We produced storyboards for the first 5 episodes, hired voice actors and recorded the dialogue for episodes1-5. Then our backer backed out and moved to LA.We tried to animate it ourselves in 2005,but weren't happy with the results. Then we tried to outsource the animation, but it didn't pan out well
Then as luck would have it a friend of ours needed a Senior project to flex his programming skills.I was trying to get into game design/writing,but was reject due to a lack of game portfolio. Our programmer loved our old scripts and so we decided we'd perform a massive and transform our episodic cartoon series into an episodic video game series. Our goal is to eventually sell each episode on Xbox Live at the price of 200 points each.A brawler with a plot...A damn fine plot...Kobold.
What drawing program did she say she was using?

Nice. I envy video editing people. So your profile says this will be a cartoon, too?
