@tmq1384 Good point. I'm thinking Newman, Paul Udell and John Hambrick may be some of the most well-traveled local news on-air personnel in television history.
PE 350's! They were followed by Hitachis in the mid 80's. No, children, Heller didn't do the music. That's Jim Kirk. probably with a little help from the great Tom Merriman, all recorded at TM Productions in Dallas. Kirk could copy a lot of styles but the vocal group is pure Dallas and nothing like the Hicklin Singers that Heller used (and it really wasn't Heller but a guy named Dick Hamilton who did his stuff). That was state of the art TV promotion back then. Sad we all looked like that!
Haha, actually I didn't know a jingle house named "Heller" ever existed. I thought mobilene meant Heller like a "hell of a" jingle. I was just concurring with that!
WFAA always produces such great productions here in Dallas. I hope to be a WFAA talent one day.

Always thought it was interesting that the news desk had a different logo than the "official" circle-8 logo.

It looks like WFAA-TV used General Electric PE-350 studio cameras.

This is so ridiculously syrupy! Helmet hair! The kiddos! The chick that's so excited that she's able to bowl and watch channel 8 news! Pure gold.

What kind of deck do you have?

Sounds like a Heller jingle as the music bed.

Heller indeed. I love the chord suspensions/resolutions at :45 and :50.

Nope. It's TM Productions. I've seen "You Can Count on Us" on Tracy Carman's spreadsheet of his TM archives (now offline).

Might I add, this is classic TM all the way. I dunno how anybody could mistake it for Heller, who did not have those Texas accents. :)
