  • prop joe wouldn't just immiediately sell out to the authorities, he would not suffer the damage to his reputation.

  • "Hey Omar, take a deep breath, a proposition may fall kindly on your ear."

  • @zweiosterei ...well tickle my fancy fat man!

  • This was awful. The actor comes across as a pretencious fat kid and the dialogue is terrible.

  • prop joe was a fat dumb buffoon who was killed by a young 20 yr old marlo stanfield..because prop joe was soft, sentimental and weak...he died for his slackerass disloyal nephew cheese LMAO

  • in 0:32 you clearly see he is prop joe from is facial expression :P

  • Prop Joe outlived a lot of his other kingpin friends simply because he was smart enough to know when to step in and out of a situation. But in the end, the game is the game.

  • who talks like that.

  • Nobody would pay 10 bucks for a test unless it's like the SAT or the BAR or something. Especially back in the 70s, that shit was like 100 bucks. And I know this because I used to buy and sell tests in HS.

  • @laspiders the script isnt perfect

  • Who gives a fuck if this is not Joe? I'm pretty damn sure the kid on the left side of the screen is Clay Davis

  • @Glorenzelg1 LOL

  • @Glorenzelg1

maybe that's where clay got the line "they thinking short when they should be thinking long, shameful shit"

  • oh please....just more reasons why the wire is unrealistic....and whats wore is that idiots really believe this hollywood crap.

  • @copsondonuts

I suggest you read "Homicide" the ride alongs and actual events that inspired this "unrealistic" show.

  • @RafaElGaffer ive read homicide-life on the killing streets. i think half of it is bullshit too. i suggest you actually visit baltimore, youll see just how he goes to extreme lengths to tell this 'tall tale'.

  • @copsondonuts

What extreme lengths are these? Of course it's not factual but it's hardly something that strikes you as a million miles from the truth and some of the accounts, the lives of people in the show before, during and after and the statistics from the city seem to bare that out.

  • @copsondonuts maybe you haven't watched the wire...and you obviously are not from Baltimore; these prequels did not make the show, and are extras. This show is very real and is based on actual people some of which are a part of the writing and production of this series.

  • sound the same but he speaks proper, very intelligent guy!!

  • LOL PROP JOE USED TO BE MY TEACHER THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM ON THE WIRE I FELL OUT LAUGHING!!!

  • @maliksaadat410 shiit did he talk like how he does in the show

  • @KrayzieB0ne3 sound the same but he speaks proper, very intelligent guy!!

  • @maliksaadat410 Prop Joe is a teacher?!?

  • Prop Joe graduated from Dunbar High School, went to HS with the commish... not illiterate at all... in fact a cunning kid... None of you jerkoff's would have stood tall like that at all...

  • I thought Prop Joe was illiterate.

  • @farnium illiterate? His vocabulary seemed above average. Like when he told nick sobotka he'd have been a 'cadaverous motherfucker'

  • @JohnBrody23

Yet he often gets people to read things for him, I don't know? Maybe that was his way of playing a powerful man?

  • shit acting by the kids

  • @elemental12345678900 I SHITTED ON UR MOTHER!!

  • arent the prequels any longer?

  • which episode was this on? i dont ever recall seing this pre hood nigga gangsta prop joe scene at all, and im a huge fan too!

  • @Palemedes They're prequels and can be found in the Wire box set. Best money I ever spent.

  • This is where I learned that Randy is Cheese's kid and not Joe's. (His name is Stewart.)

  • Prop Joe padded Clarence Royces' campain.

Made Lawyer's and other people money too. (maybe Judge Phelan)

He also got Hard-hittin Nigga's to stop the killing, and only doing so when

agreed on as the group. Everyone's got a bone or two in their respective closet. "You cry-on-it....I'll beat you til its dark!"

It's not about to be that kid's day either.

  • Prop Joe..Was To Smart For His Own Good...

  • @2916316

Not really, he just needed eliminate the competition that threatned his diplomatic way of dealing drugs, like Marlo.

  • damn..you have anymore of these wire prequels??

  • is this the full thing or just a snippet?

  • this and the omar prequels are really bad. the dialogue here was just awkward.

  • @escaflowne3 think it was just the actors...but the expression @0:32 is straight up text book prop joe

  • What nobody seemed to notice was that Clay Davis Quote " Respectfully you think'in short when you otta be think'in long.....that infamous Clay Davis repute.... Sheee-yiit !

  • prop joe was a hustler for real

  • just like Randy a good kid who is about the business but also a snitch

  • lol

  • Not a lots changed with Joe it seems. This deal probably coulda gone down his way if he did "steal from me I'll kill your whole family" thing.

  • @lookingglassedge Prop Joe wasn't cut for that, he didn't have the right people, and wasn't fierce by himself. Everybody had the ability to at least defend themselves, or had a lot of people willing to die before them. Prop Joe didn't, he was about getting money and he did more than others. He lived as long as he did because of that trait, and if he did that "Kill your family" thing, he would've been taken out easily and quickly.

  • @Phame17 I know. I just got done with season 4 and was kinda amazed at how Omar was running circles around him near the end, even if Omar is that good. He has always been more of a businessman.

  • If Joe was such a great businessman, why didn't he go straight? He definitely had the brains to become legit rich. It's too bad, but hey, being the most successful drug dealer in Baltimore history wasn't bad (seeing how he probably never when to jail and made to 50).

  • It's less like Joe as a kid. And more like a completely different kid impersonating the adult version. It just passes off as weird and awkward dialogue.

  • @Strand0410 haha true. i dont know what they were thinking when they made these prequels.

  • @Strand0410 the acting was weak, the dialogue coulda worked

  • fuk them east side niggas lol

  • are these shorts any longer? I mean shit i expected 30 mins or something. I'm suffering from withdrawal here damn it

  • lol

  • Prop was weak in the end. He bent over for all of them... Omar, Marlo...

  • WHERE CAN I GET THESE PREQUELS???

  • @1916FENIAN There on some special edition of season 5 i think.

  • shit i watched the wire but i dont remember this, wat season is this?

  • @alisesay never aired on the actual series...HBO just did brief scenes of a few character's past

  • @SROCKSTA no I'm not but for real you can roll out shawdy because I'm not about to have cyber fight with! Don't know who da fuck you're you may be a rapist or terrorists or some shit like that! So Ima leave you the fuck alone yo!

  • @evildave9000 plz don't piss me da fuck off and if u want to know he is my brother so you say dat shit to him cuz I ain't come on utube to argue! So really I don't give a fuck! Stupid bitch is he your mate fuck are you? And you do the fucking acting since it was so damn bad. Fuck this is why I hate ppl!

  • Shit acting.

  • @mrrobotica Proper shit acting. Good script though.

  • I don't care if he's prop joe. That's Clay Davis standing right there.

  • where are these prequels from? i have the boxset and has no mention of these clips?

  • @juliuswhiteman They're on the american season 5 dvd extras. We in the UK don't get it unfortunately.

  • even though joe was a snake it kinda hurt to see him go

  • Guess Method Man and Marlo didn't stand for that sh*t...

  • i have known young kids to think and speak like that. this show prides itself on its ability to be authentic.

now, just cuz you didnt think or talk like that at 12, does not mean, that others havent or dont.

  • Damn how old is Joe supposed to be? If hey around 12-13 and this supposed to be 1962, that mean dude was like 57-58 years old by season 5. I ain't realize he was supposed to be that old.

  • This clip shows why He got killed later on in life. You illegally help somebody get on only to eliminate them by calling the authories lol!!!

  • @ grungadin

I think is the best ever made too and you should not judge the show if don't watch the series sooo shut up aight!

    Grungadin

  • Yeah...this one did seem kind of lame to me. Even if he did end up like that later in life, nobody talks like that at 12.

  • i cant believe they went to the trouble of making these little prequels, like they say " the devil's in the details"....and thats what makes this probably the greatest show ever made!

  • @paulm1605

Your favorite show ever made. Your opinions don't reflect the public's.

  • @Grungadin have u seen The Wire?

once u watch it it's hard to argue that it's not one of the best written HBO Shows of all time.

  • terrible acting, glad i didn't see this while i was watching this amazing series. i would have had to keep watching it anyway.

  • @franklinms22 I thought so too, the casting was amazing in the series, but here...

  • Incredible fucking acting. Just incredible.

  • Is it just me or did prop joe get whiter(literally) as he got older?

  • the teacher is a babe

  • LOl i remenber seein this on hbo. Good shit

  • BARKSDALE YO

  • propistiton joe is a punk...they shoulda had stringer and weebay.

  • I've never seen this

did they got this from the DVD, Which one???

  • @postboy117 i saw it on comcast on demand back in the day before season 5 started

  • come on what kid speaks like that even if his name is prop joe

  • It's 1962, people were educated back then. They didn't just sit around on youtube all day.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota... that's beside the point, educated or not, thats a very contrived way of speaking for a kid

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota 1: I've learned more sitting around on youtube all day in the past year then most people would learn from a lifetime in school. but then i guess it depends on what you sit around on youtube watching.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota 2: Anyway my point is youtube (as well as the rest of the internet) is a greater tool for educating then the school system. It offers a limitless amount of information and knowledge in any subject or at any level, free for anyone who wants it and allowing people to learn at there own pace and in there own time.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota 3: as opposed to a system that forces learning on people, many before there ready, and that bullies the joy of learning out of so many before they have a chance to discover it for themselves. A system that decides for others what should and shouldn't be learned rather then letting people discover what they enjoy learning for themselves. A system that treats children mechanically, like clogs in a machine, who all most learn the same things at the exact same rate.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota 4: Rather then seeing that all children are individuals and we all learn differently and at different rates and that some kids are more interested in learning to dance then learning math or learning to paint instead of English, and that there's nothing wrong with that. The world needs dancers and artistes just as much as it need scientists and professors.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota 5: Anyway, i apologise sincerely for the rant (which was not directed at you) as it didn't have much to do with your comment and i'm not even really sure how i got started. But my point is, you'd be surprised how much you can learn from YouTube.

Also i love your username ;D. wow that was so long i had to spread it over 5 comments lol, sorry again.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota or in a couch collecting welfaire..

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota You didn't just guess that from watching this youtube video did you?

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota People are better educated today than in the 60s. Part of the reason is because of the internet, like Youtube which doesn't just have vidoes of people doing dumb shit. There are actually great videos you can learn from. Pretty ignorant comment.

  • @greenchef6 Way to miss the point. The existence of clever stuff on JewTube doesn't mean there aren't a shitload of fucking retards. For every 1 time someone has used the internet for something useful 100 have used it to write a shitty, whiny blog about their awful middle class life, post 1,000,000 photos of them self from weird angles so they don't look fat, TYPE DESU AGAIN, watch gay ass japanese cartoons and write "3 PPL DONT HAV A PROPOSITION 4 U" in a YT comments section.

  • @nonnynay I like anime wtf, just because someone watches something does not make them a certain way, I can watch cartoons and be a productive member of society, what the fuck does that have to do with anything, FYI you look even worse by thinking people will listen to you over a youtube comment. Peace.

  • @ss6truks Cool story bro.

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota Can't argue with that! You right!

  • @HenryGaleOfMinnesota +1 Reminds me of what Slim Charles said "DO YOU KNOW WHAT A COLORED PERSON IS?"

  • @dina237 product of his environment, maybe he got to speaking like that tryna be like someone he saw.

  • Comment removed

  • @dina237 as much as i would like to agree with the comment above i have to agree with you. this is the worst prequal. not only is the way he talking silly but $10 for a test? damn! that was big money when i grew up in the 80's-90's, so in the 60's you must of been able to buy a house with that....lol. this is just stupid.

  • @dina237 smart ones

  • @TurKdiRty "smart ones"... lol no, his intelligence isn't the problem, it's the contrived dialogue. prop joe comes off as annoying little prick no surprised he turned weak in the end.

  • @dina237 Seemed more like bad acting.

  • @phudabulah Nope, there are kids that can talk like that, not bad acting. 1962 was very different from how kids are today. Hell, there are kids who are nine years old, using cell phones and on facebook. What's to say they couldn't talk that way back then?

  • @dina237

nigga is u some uneducated gump ass nigga?

  • the omar one was way better

  • This would have been a good scene about Joe if the kids could act better.

  • @evildave9000 yea nd your mom cudda have been a better mom if she wasnt a dude

  • @kobe4life1000 YOUR A FUCKING FAG YOU MUST BE A KID!

  • @kobe4life1000 No need for that was there? The kid is a shit actor. Nothing you or I can do about that. Sorry if it's your mate or something.

  • What a punk. "Got a proposition for you, ma'am!"

  • crap

  • should have picked an older, better actor to play joe in this clip

  • even as a youngster prop joe was ruthless

  • the acting sucks on this..

  • @WarmBread123 yo momma does too.

  • What a fat f*ckin punk b*tch. I agree with the other commentors.....Omars childhood was scene gained WAY MORE respect that props punk ass.

  • @cirethgr8 Bitch who gives a fuck dont fukk wit me like dat i will fukk u up dont eva fukken come 4 me like dat. bitch bet u wont say it 2 mii face. pleez. yo ass barkin up da wrong muthafukkin tree. bitch.

  • @kobe4life1000 What are you talking about ? You sound like and MUST BE a little kid . LOL ! My comment wasn't even talking to you. Sounds like you didn't take your meds looney . LOL

  • yeah that sucked i liked omars childhood better prop joe was a bitch who talked his way out of getting fucked with till marlos peep lade his ass out!!

  • @SROCKSTA so does your mom. dont fukkin come 4 ppl like dat u could get hurt bitch

  • i don't like this clip much because it's ridiculous to think prop joe would talk and act like that as a 10 year old

  • ya dat shit was cold...........wallace was bad too.

  • Prop Joe death had to be the coldest. "Close your eyes, Joe... Relax..breathe...."

  • no it wasnt....brandons death was the coldest (omars first boyfriend) joes was quick an pain less

  • Nah, wrong. Brandon's death was just Horrid not cold. Cold was meant as "....Wow" sort of reaction. With Brandon's death, it was just shocking by how far they went on him. Prop Joe's death is the coldest because it had no emotion to it.

  • the teacher thick

  • im glad prop joe got whacked..... he thought he could talk his way out of nytin

  • I'm confused he told on the kids who stole the answers from him?

  • yeah cause they shorted him on the payoff

  • They didn't pay him in full, so he tried to get the rest of the money from the teacher to rat them out.

  • prop joe was such a great character!!! i think my favorite in the entire show :)

  • 15 bucks in 1962 is a shitload of money to pay for a test

  • Ye those kids must have been desperate to get the marks ;0

Got completely owned by Joe though :)

  • Especially for a 6th grader, or whatever age they are.

  • because the characters are so powerful we wanna knwo more!

  • why the fuck did your mother and father conceive you? what were they trying to prove??????

  • is the other kid royce the future mayor or rawls the future comissioner. Jow mentioned to herc he went to junior high with one and that they were on the glee club.

  • that was burrell

  • good thinking!

  • nah prop joe wudnt snitch

  • SHHHHHHEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

  • this was on HBO on demand right before season 5 came out

  • So is this on the dvd?

  • what's this from? it wasn't in the original series so what's it called

  • it was in the original

  • DVD extras.

  • They did a few special cuts of characters during their childhood hood or teenage years to promote the show for season 5. They're all available as special features on the season 5 DVDs and they were available through HBO on demand just before season 5 aired. They also did shorts of a teenage Omar, I think a young Cutty, and a few other characters.

  • DID THEY DO AVON AND STRINGER?

  • As far as I know, they didn't. They did teenage Omar, the time when Bunk and McNulty first meet, Young Cutty, Young Prop Joe and I think that's it.

  • they fkn should have...

  • Man I'd love to see that shit as kids

  • I KNOW! What were they thinking. That would have been WAY more interesting than this.

I would have loved to see stringer and Avon as kids.

    The acting was terrible.

  • @Jeanpierre425 Agreed, that kid can't act.

  • yea...this one wasnt too good....and i would definately liked to see how stringer and avon hooked up also...at season 3 when avon got paroled and went to the party they hinted at how they were as youngsters...stringer was on the pro black stuff wanting to open up stores and avon was totin the ak lookin for some payback

  • @Jeanpierre425 who gives a fukk. damn yo ass cant act probaly. at leaast he gettin paid

  • @kobe4life1000 Kobe, you are the biggest lame ever. You go hard on Youtube. Gangstas don't type. You're probably some lame on his moms computer in the "hood" of Beverly hills.

And your come backs are so bad.

  • Go Dejon!

  • shadiness foreshadowed. tragic flaw, lol.

  • Greedy ass kid

  • whats the track name of the song at 1:00 ?

  • Never mind...its "twistin the night away"

  • Yeah 'Twisting the Night Away' by Sam Cooke. Good song. Cooke is a legend.

  • the fat boi he go to my school yo real talk WALKER MILL MIDDLE his name is dejon

  • @crazythicksilly yo who dis?

  • don't fuck with him, he'll kill your whole family

  • he reminde me of brother mouzone a bit here, but with prop joe's textbook coolness
