I'm 43 (not young), WHITE and gay. It's a tough road for anyone. Try being a gay single and NOT being a spring chicken w/ washboard abs and bubble butt! Thank GOD I have sort of supportive parents (they know I'm gay but don't want me to flaunt it) my sister is the most supportive.

The world was shaped by religion which is the "wisdom" of the masses. With it the world was formed and to change the world you "simply" have the change religion. It's not that we are in mental slavery but that everyone is. I don't think we can or should be blaming the whites for the way we currently think. Most people have no other way of viewing the world than through the already coloured shards of the past that have been handed down to them.

I would have to say it's only God that brought me through it all with my right mind. As a child there was 2 neighborhood boys that was different from me and the other little boys. few of the kids picked on them because they didn't play like we did. I feel proud to be a Temple University student because of you. It is a shame that homosexuality in itself is outcasted in our society. Then being a black man is a whole other struggle in this work, as well as just being young. To be all three and have survived the struggle of "choosing" and finding your way is an accomplishment in itself. I will not sympathize b/c I know ppl don't do these videos to be pitied. for me being Gay and Black is more difficult because I am also an Orthodox Jew. Being born to an interfaith family raised Jewish and always knowing I was gay, has always been hard for me. So I understand your struggle, its still a struggle for me. The Black community doesn't accept homosexual, the Jewish community turns a blind eye to gays....so yeah its hard.

The world was shaped by religion which is the "wisdom" of the masses. With it the world was formed and to change the world you "simply" have the change religion. It's not that we are in mental slavery but that everyone is. I don't think we can or should be blaming the whites for the way we currently think. Most people have no other way of viewing the world than through the already coloured shards of the past that have been handed down to them.

In watching this video...I related to so much that you said. The Isolation, and Ostracizing, teasing was a big part of my childhood. I would have to say it's only God that brought me through it all with my right mind. The Part of the video that Made me fight back tears was: 4:37 - 4:57 - I remember praying also as a child asking God "Please don't let me be gay". I realize that I am living through this life to help and encourage others who aren't as strong as I am.....That's LIFE !!!

Now this is the exact same thing i am trying to explain to people when the topic "Gay" is in conversation. Excellent job in putting out the facts. As a child there was 2 neighborhood boys that was different from me and the other little boys. few of the kids picked on them because they didn't play like we did. The only reason why it will never be accepted in the black community is because a large number of the black community is yet to liberate their minds; they are still in some form of mental slavery. I am amazed how we talk about black pride yet proudly hold on to beliefs that were handed down to us by whites? That race in many ways have evolved and yet we stay behind holding tightly to that false belief. It's obvious many blacks are still in the baby stage, yet to walk or to think on their own.

This video made me cry because I know exactly how you feel. For years when I was young, I suppressed my feelings and prayed over and over again, because I was scared of hell, I was scared of loosing my friends, and most of all I was scared my family wouldn't except me.
To this day I still have never come out to anyone(though I now except who I am), and have to do everything on the DL-- while trying to date a girlfriend to cover it up.Anyway thanks for the video XemVanVdams.

I tried to supress my feelings for women as well and being a jamaican I did a lot to not be with a woman. I grew up in the church and went as far as having a child just to prove that I was not a lesbian but I am...all the prayers I prayed and am still a lesbian. I feel proud to be a Temple University student because of you. It is a shame that homosexuality in itself is outcasted in our society. Then being a black man is a whole other struggle in this work, as well as just being young. for me being Gay and Black is more difficult because I am also an Orthodox Jew. Being born to an interfaith family raised Jewish and always knowing I was gay, has always been hard for me. So I understand your struggle, its still a struggle for me. The Black community doesn't accept homosexual, the Jewish community turns a blind eye to gays....so yeah its hard.

In all i feel that this video should not allow comments b/c we've all heard dem be4 and kno what's gonna b said. Gays are going to love it, str8s who support gays will stat to understand alil more, Christians (who think they are more Christian then anyone but really are the devils od the churh) will try to tell gay people how to live, which by the way is passing judgement something that you do not do when you are a true christian. This always happen when it comes to the topic of being gay.

no one is looking for gay videos. this is found under the black state of the union. if you don't want people to post their opinions then dont post gay videos under political subjects. when this video comes on you can see other related gay videos. i have not looked at any of them. i get tired of gay people using the same ol' comment, dont judge. the truth is the truth. it's not judging.

I'm 100% openly gay and my relatives, parents & even my straight friends are very supportive of me. They've never passed any judgment on me at all. You got the fuckin' audacity to say, "I get tired of gay people using the same comment," when you're judgmental yourself, which is not a surprise. And coupsaen is right - you didn't have to click on this video at all, whether intended or not. And stop making others feel lower than you.

Hm...I did not watch the video but I read the comments and I am so sick of Self Rightious Christians telling everyone how to live their lives. Not everybody is a Christian and not everone believes in the Bible. Stop being closed minded. Stop judging people, becuz if im not mistaken that is a sin to. The black community is so hateful its DISGUSTING. And to have people speak on homosexuality that have never experienced it is sad too.

Based on scripture which is the only thing I can go by, it says that people who live this lifestyle have a reprobate state of mind and that they choose to live a life full of trouble because they reject Gods word. The Bible is God's word.There are no mistakes in it.You were right that I am not God, nor have I professed to be in any of my postings. LBK7070 if homosexuals were born homosexuals then they would not be ashamed when they discover they have feelings for the same sex. they would not have to come out. i never had to come out because i'm heterosexual. no one is born gay. the problem is not that u are gay the problem is you are stating that u are born that way. that's saying that God is faulty. God does not make mistakes.

I agree with everything the Bible says and I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. illnana1234 don't be deceived God is not mocked whatsoever you sow you shall reap.God still loves you and as believers I know that I have Christian love toward everyone, I am not in agreement with the notion of some one being born gay.this is indeed a lifestyle choice and it is one that the word of God is against. homosexuality is wrong. we have free will to make the choice to do right or wrong. be responsible for your actions. if you want to do wrong then do it. How can anybody choose to be treated this way? Do you believe that individuals just wake up one day and decide that they want to be rejected by society and have all their friends and loves ones turn their backs on them. You are not GOD. You can't judge. And by the way, the Bible was inspired by God, not written by him so there does exist the possibility of human error.

HOMOSEXUALS are born homosexuals just like Anglo-Saxons are born Anglo-Saxons and men are born men. Who are you to tell someone how to live their life? The bible is constantly read out of context. Religion is being used as an EXCUSE too much. Fundamentalist extremists is a prime example. I would not consider you far from it. We have one life, focus on yourself and let everyone else live.
