  • i have this system but i can get 8 hours;)

  • I usually turn off the trackpad to clean it. I wish I could turn off the keyboard, too, but oh well.

  • Thanks for the great review.

  • Would you trade this one in for the AS3810TZ model. Its only 100 dollars more here in Canada. Thanks.

  • Is the 13.3" screen on this laptop easy to work with for long hours? Easy on the eyes? I'm used to a 14.1", just for reference.

  • @Lavabug yes, it is. i am using it for 9 months now.

  • @minipcpro

Thanks for replying, is the general performance good/fast? Can it run some games like CSS at high settings?

  • @Lavabug i am really happy with the performance and i am playing CS 1.6 on it every while and then. haven't checked source though

  • The main reason you would want to turn off the track pad is if you find when you type you are accidentally brushing it with your palms. I found on my netbook I was accidentally relocating my cursor, so I turn it off when I have an external mouse attached oir if I'm doing a lot of typing. I'm now looking at the new timeline x series and wondering when they are going to release them in Canada!

  • looks so nice. but getting the hp dm3 instead. ^_^ with same graphics.

  • Ok, so with windows 7, all power savings on, with SU3500, I got over 9 hours of surfing over WiFI. It works perfectly, no lags. If you watch online videos, the quality is not great due to the power savings mode on the cpu but definetly watchable. I realy like this notebook, its great, my only posible regret is not ordering the dual cole one, mainly for the ability to do games better :) other than that, photoshop, office suite, winamp + surfing with 10+tabs = perfectly ok even on the single core.

  • Hi, I would like to ask you if your laptop, was recalled for service, due to a faulty micropfone cable. I just got mine, and I wass teribly disapointed to find that this models are recalled. Could you give me any data on this, thank you!

  • You should instead install the ATI drivers from Acer Support site. It comes with Intel drivers too and those work a lot better to improove the battery life! In my case these two tips really make a lot of difference in battery life. Remember that I have windows 7 and some things may not solve your problem 100% sure!

Ah, I also updated 3G drives and now I have native support to 3G, so that I can connect through windows interface!

Hope I could help... You can always PM me if you want ;)

  • Hello, I have the same laptop as you and I had the same problem with the battery life. But the truth is that is really is 8hours+!!!

I am running windows 7 and when I suspend my laptop I have to switch the graphics manually ti ATI and then put it back to Intel. This has only happened when I suspend and then return session. But with this little tip I goes from beyond 8hours.

Tha other thisg you have to be sure is to do NOT install the Intel drivers!....

  • The switching off of a track-pad is a method of avoiding, the dancing-cursor. That dancing cursor is caused by, the stray movements of at least one-thumb.

  • Nice.....mmmm battery life?!!!! I only have 2.5 :S

  • Nice apartment Sascha! lol yeah took me a while to figure out those leds are buttons. Nice to hear your thoughts on it. I got way more battery life out of my SU3500 model (up to 6 hours) and I don't mean just idling :)
