  • a total random question - may sound silly but if you eat raw fish can you get food poisoning?

  • @chloehannahx1 Yes and no. Eating raw ANYTHING can make you susceptible to food poisoning, but fish tend to carry more of the parasitic organisms as opposed to the food-borne bacteria and viruses, as well as mercury and other elements that can cause illnesses. The most important rule is only using reputable fish mongers and restaurants with proper storage techniques.

  • @StrawberriHearts a couple of heaped table spoons of mayo, the juice of half a lemon, a table spoon or so of chopped chives, the same amount of gherkins and some capers .. all in a bowl.. mix and done =]

  • Nice idea lads but a bit too much work for a simple fish finger sandwich... loving the squeeze of lemon and tartar sauce but think I'll stick with Birds Eye 100% fish fingers!

  • @justinloverrr5833 Really simple... you'll love them! Just cut the baking potatoes into large wedges, toss them in a little olive oil, salt and pepper and line them up on a baking tray (single layer - don't put them on top of each other). Bake/roast at 180 degrees Celcius for 30-40 mins until cooked through and golden.

  • @torbunny if you want the best fish finger going then frying has to be the answer! Just make sure the oil is hot enough so the breadcrumbs will crisp up rather than absorb all the oil. You could oven bake them, it works, just not as good! Hope that helps?

  • @sortedfood I found that if the meat is thin enough, oven frying at 425F is really just as good as deep frying without all the fat. Whatever floats your boat really.
