  • Hey Rick nice car. This car is back again and for sale. I saw it on your web site, What happened? Didnt the buyer like it?

  • Wish my dad never sold his trans am.......if i was alive at the time i would have stopped him.

  • at least he didnt spin out..

  • is this stock?

    cant be.

  • what a beauty!!!

  • I would love to get my hands on a '79 Trans Am. There is nothing like the sound of good American Muscle.

  • bad ass!

  • i dont know about you but i was so hoping someone would smash into his ass when he was backing it into the road.

  • yeah, when fixed up its the nicest car from the era, the bandit didnt drive nothin' else but the t/a

  • 21 gallons

  • @ricky80ss of pure adrenaline!

  • What size is the gas tank on a 79 trans am? Gallons wise?

  • wish you guys were in philly

  • what size tires does it have? i like the size alot.

  • bad ass

  • is it straight forward converting an auto to a 4 speed? is it all off the shelf parts or custom?

  • how much

  • Freaking awesome!! just found a one like it its so dead going to bring to live ! Thats what u call a car :D

  • my dad has same year

  • Nice ride

  • I give you $5000 for it

  • I am amazed at the price people ask for stock TAs. They were smoggers with little to nothing seperating them from a standard passenger car of that era. No custom engine performance options...outside of the W72 400. I could understand those commanding a good price but it is still a limited performance smogger. Yet the high production station wagon engine powered Trans Ams with 2.41 axles command top dollar. Ah supply and demand. People want those TAs.

  • @mongoose704

Change the cam and the heads on the Pontiac motors and these cars really wake up! Pre emissions pontiac heads are not that difficult to locate. I have a good looking 79 that runs really strong.

  • @dflur I would take a decently priced W72. I missed one by one day in 1987 but damn did she have power. 220 horsepower? Terribly underrated.

Do you have a video of your '79? Right now I have a 1994 LT1 Z28 with bolt ons, headers and SLP loudmouth that runs pretty strong.

  • @mongoose704 I know right? I mean they look amazing but im surprised at how much people are asking for them now. In fact it gets annoying with any muscle car these days, anymore someone finds an old Chevelle or something out in their barn and they hang onto it like they just struck gold and ask rediculous prices like $18k for an unrestored car.

I'll still be lookin for one of these soon though, lol, another sheep to the herd...

    xD

  • oh my gosh, Thats my dream car O.O I will get one next year! >;(

  • people are starting to hoard these things now cause pontiacs done, still pretty affordable cars tho... for now

  • still hate the ugly 79 front clip aka nose

  • uytreaqwerx

  • that is a good looking car but the bandit car was a 1977

  • @MRalexanator Ummm wow, there are three Smokey and the Bandit movies, so there for.. there are thee Bandit cars.

  • give you $4,000. paid $6,900 for one new.

  • boys o boys thats a stotty car, im tryin to get one myself

  • we did not restore this car, was like that when we purchased, we aligned the hood before it was sold, took 5 minutes.

  • @ricky80ss You do the best work ive ever seen

  • @bandit3271980 all those piece of shit f bodys have that problem.

  • trans am is the father of all American muscles !!!

  • not really the father... more like the bastard son. they were never really given the appretiation they deserve, everyone's crazy about its little bro the camaro. and the trans am had arrived just as the age of muscle cars came too an end. I would however call it the last true muscle car.

  • @Icarus06201 i agree with you the trans am never really did get the respect that she deserves. and yea your right it was the last muscle car

  • 76 was the best year i swear

  • Omg, one of these days im going to own a bandit. My favorite car in the world, i would even sell my 2000 WS.6 drag car for one. That is a really beautiful car man im jealous, but why are you selling it?

  • the 455s that came in the 71-76 trans ams, were they big blocks or were they like the 400s and 403s, mid size blocks?

  • same car, 79 trans am

  • One day....i'm coming for you baby.

  • The 400s are actually pretty sturdy engines, especially for old performance V8s like that, the 455s always had heating problems but then again its FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY FIVE CUBES IN A SMALL BLOCK =0 hahaha, always heard the 403s were fast engines but had some design trouble too, the 400 is perfect in my oppinion, every day driveability but the power is definatly there if you call on it

  • THESE guys are restoreing them for other people, their not gonna abuse the car too much.

  • exactly, finally someone that understands!

  • @ricky80ss haha i understand completely if i was interested in purchasing this vehicle i would be completely turned off by someone beating the shit out of it! nice vid

  • @ricky80ss From a mechanical perspective from what I saw, You did just enough to show that the car had more than it's share of power, but nothing that will actually hurt the car.

  • @c0uchsl0uch thought about that, but i decided to restore mine for myself. 17, with a car pretty much like this one :D

  • i would love to take on her with my 78 W72 400 WS6 4 Speed.

  • Shes so beautiful... why would you get rid of her?

  • i heard 400 is a lots of trouble

  • Prob if he came onto it he would spin the thing around. 400hp would be able to roast the tires.. like right off it...

  • that was just touching the pedal a bit....

  • Whats with the slow mo burnout? Thats wasnt impressive by any means, I mean if that car has 400 hp why did it have such a weak 2nd gear chirp?

  • aww dude why are you selling that bad boy i would so make love in that car

  • o and do you guys ever run into clearance issues when putting duel flowmasters on the later model cars ive heard there alittle low?

  • no issues, we do every exhaust with mandel machine

  • is this a 400 or 403?

  • all 4 speeds came with 400 , onoly automatics had 403. This car has the original 400 (matching numbers)

  • great car men!

  • converters?

  • you mean Catalityc? nop, can be installed though.

  • ok just wondering based on the sound

  • very nice

  • this car sounds like a truck

  • thats because the motor is so big its even bigger than a truck motor i know i got a 1979 trans am just rebuilt the 403 and put it in
