I enjoy anthropomorphism stories... AKA "Books in-wich animals can talk". My favourite book used to be the Wind in the Willows, until I started reading Watership Down.
inspiring video. thx. I read mostly manga these days. I like that it's a combination of movie and novel :) Sometimes you can tell your story with words and other times you can do it with just visuals which I like. I'm slowly trying to write my own story and what you say about rewriting is very true.
As for novels, Ender's Game is my favorite book. Randomly picked it up at the bookstore when I was a kid, flipped to a chapter and was blown away. Excited about the upcoming movie!
I love reading both fantasy stories - books that are steeped in things that don't exist - and books that make me think (i.e. What Happened to Lani Garver by Carol Plum-Ucci, Unwind by Neal Shusterman, etc.) Bran Hambric falls neatly into the first. ;)

i love and will read any books with romance in them! i love them! if there isnt any romance then i need a book that will keep my on ege through the whole book so that i absolutley cant put it down for anything.
I used to be quite limited to books like Bran Hambric and the first parts of that Secret Project, but lately I've been reading an enjoying all these different types of books.
I love all types of books really. As a rule I love fantasy and action, but more swords and sheilds and magic, rather than modern ones. At the moment I'm in love with Historical novels, specially Phillipa Gregory's Tudor Court novels
i love reading fantasy books set in a historic time period or a alternate universe....i guess adventure is more my thing too :))) i i like books set in modern time periods too though :D
I like reading lots of different types of novels. I normally tend toward alternate universe fantasy though such as those by George Martin or Raymond Feist. I also enjoy reading the paranormal romance books, they are my guilty pleasure :D But I do like to curl up in bed with a good historical fiction every now and again as it two of my greatest loves; reading and history.
As a writer, I prefer the books about mythical creatures/monsters. I could never sit through a book without a vampire sneaking into your room, or a werewolf boy staring at you ect ect :) I don't know, it is just me... I prefer the scary mythical books. ^^
That's so true. I've lost track of time countless times. Or not showered or done laundry, or anyhting like that. Now if only I can finish school so I can write all day every day. As for the question: adventure/fantasy stuff. I dont usually like books that too realistic.
really i love all types of books, and the types i like seem to change every month, but my favorite as of now probably would be either fantasy or horror stories. Also, I am a history nerd so i will always love non-fiction stories about not-so-famous or famous people's lives, like from WWII and stuff. :D
It it is fantasy, I love it. I am 20 (almost 21) and I still read books like The Secrets of Droon by Tony Abbott because it takes place in a magical world full of adventure. The books are for second graders. Tamora Pierce has to be one of my favorite authors, again lots of magic and adventure. Which is also why I like the Percy Jackson books and your books, Kaleb. Fantasy with magic and adventure.
I am a Sci-Fi/Fantasy reader. Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, Anne McCafferey and of course Stephanie Meyers are some of my favorites. I think I like fantasy because when I turn on the news I am faced with the dismal reality we live in and it is nice to hop on my dragon and go to a happy place if only for a little while. Reading, not drugs, is the best escape from reality.
I got this crazy idea in my head for a book, so i;ve been writing it. Its terriblely written because it is developing so fast that I can't get it down fast enough! And i am so used to rewriting my story, that i actually enjoy doing it, because then i can get it out the way i want to! :D
The books I like to read are mostly fantasy I guess, and biogarafies, liked reading some of those since I was young. And Kat Von D's Tattoo Chronicles, that's set in real life, yaaaay! xD
For me all it takes is pretty much a good story a good plot and a good way to tell it. Alhough I will point out Sci-Fi either in a movie or book or novel is completely abysmal. I don't really like them If I would have to pick a favorite I would have to say Paranormal stories could be considered my favorite, Although I do specify on Angels and Demons, I love drawing them I love reading about them, its my type of stuff.
I love a variety of books! real life and fantasy seem to be my favourite tho...magical creatures, super powers and things unnatural are just so fun to read, but sometimes its great to just disappear into the real world just written from someone else's persepctive (Sarah Dessen is my favourite real life books...and I cant even begin to name the fantasy books I enjoy! your included Kaleb!!)
i love real life books, im into to whole inter-species relationship thing and i also like reading obscure books that most people havent heard of before, i love finding little gems that dont get much publicity but are just amazing to read
I read horror. paranormal, general everyday-life john green books, journalish books, adventure, mystery(if well written), and fantasy. i HATE romance as the main theme, and I also hate really religous books.
Kaleb! Forget the videos if it means you'll be able to publish this secret project sooner. Your books are AWESOME!!! Can't wait to read this new one =) oh, and fantasy is my favorite genre, but I'll read pretty much anything that isn't non-fiction -MAP
Hey, Kaleb, you get points for mentioning John Green! I've read his novels "Looking for Alaska", "An Abundance of Katherines" and "Paper Towns" and found them funny and excruciatingly honest in terms of human emotions. Last year he joined Nanowrimo for the very first time and I was wondering if you've ever been part of that world-wide phenomenon yourself. Do YOU Nanowrimo?
Recently I read The Grapes of Wrath, and then Beyond The Deepwoods and now I'm reading Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer which is absolutely amazing and is fast on its way to becoming one of my favourite books. You should definitely read it :).
i love fantasy books, with adventure and romance. But i also like to dabble in everyday romances with a twist. I like you're idea of paranormal modern-sounds really good. :)
i enjoy your bran books and if you found an idea you feel is better im going to buy that book to you are a very talented writer im probably the only teenage dude who reads books in my grade but it does not detour me from ant books that look interesting
John Green's Looking For Alaska is one of my all time favorite books. It changed a lot of my perspective on some things.
Honestly it doesn't really matter to me what I read. The most important thing about a book, to me, is the characters. Their perspectives, how they change, how they change others, how they don't change, and how well they come alive. Whenever I read a book I don't want the outside world. Books are an escape. I want the characters to become alive. Have realistic personalities.
I'm not really into paranormal unless written really well. I like adventure and futuristic books too.
I really can't deny that I've lost count of how many harlequin romance novels I own. That's more of a guilty pleasure because they're just quick light reads with mostly fluff and a small plot that just leaves a bit of happiness when it's done.
I like books based on fairy tales too. Magic is also an element I like in books. Historical Romance is also nice.
hey Kaleb i was wondering if my school could you're songs in videos on our news please please please get back to me my teacher would like your permission so we could use your songs.

something supernatural. i like vampires, but ah, its getting old now, seems like since twilight every book i see is about vampires except bran hambric!
Paranormal Romance with Vampires, Werewolves, Shapeshifters, Fairies/Fey, Fallen Angels/Normal Angels, and Dragons (in the case of Firelight by Sophie Jordan). My mom got me into romance than I LOVE horror movies (which i got from my dad) so both together equals EPICNESS!!!
ANYTHING!!! (except educational bla bla bla books!) I read mysteries and fantasy for the most part. I like Twilight, Gregor the overlander, The hunger games, percy jackson, harry potter, nancy drew. anything!!! ( = I still have to read your books Kaleb. I have so many books that i want to read and some that are so freaking awesome that I have to read them again (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Colins) !!! I'll make sure and read yours soon!
I like many different types of genres: realistic fiction, dystopias, fantasy, historical fiction, sci-fi, etc. As long as there is a good plot and it's interesting, I'll read it. :)
i love very real stories to me. like it could have happened and characters that have a very strong bond. i know they are very girl books, but kaleb if you ever get the chance, you should read The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. lots of symbolism and meaning behind things the characters do. sometimes her characters scream at me, and i love them, and canNOT put her books down.
How do you come up with the ideas for your books? Apparently I have a talent for writing, and I have some ideas, but none of them really WANT to be written. People want me to write while I am still a teenager because apparently its 'amazing' when a young person writes a book at that age, and it sells better. I really want to write, but I just can't write without an idea. Any suggestions or advice, Kaleb?
I love all sorts of books. vampire books(I have about 2 shelves of them alone), Stories in other worlds like Tamora Peirce and her amazingness, of course magic, and other paranormal and supernatural books. But I sometimes like books just set in the real world without any magic...
I've enjoyed books from every single genre there is. Mostly though, I'm into books where there's a touch of fantasy/sci-fi mixed in with the real world (Mortal Instruments, Curse Workers, GONE series, Inkheart trilogy, etc.) HP is amazing, Twilight's okay, if not a little mediocre in the actual writing.
I also really, really, REALLY love books written by Jodi Picoult! I have yet to read a book by her that I haven't liked. <3
Oh, and I enjoy Shakespeare, too...sometimes. hehe
I love romance, mystery, fantasty/adventure, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, classics & more modern books . . . basically, everything. :b I'm a bibliophile.
I love epic dangerous romances with a twist. something like the books: Fallen :By Lauren Kate, Meridian:by i dont know lol, Twilight: by Stephenie Meyer, The Vampire Diaries, Need..... etc ... u get the point lol
I like reading something where parts of the story are realistic and then parts where there's an adventure or fantasy involved, but written so well it's actually believable, and in your mind, considered real. Like Lemony Snickets a series of unfortunate events, or charmed.
and I like reading fantasy books, with lots of magic, or adventure. But no Vampire Romance books AT ALL. No offence to all of the Twilight fans, but That just isn't my kind of book. A couple examples of books I like (besides Bran Hambric, of course) is the Tunnels series, the Charlie Bone series, of course Harry Potter, the Last Apprentice series, and lots of others.
I look forward to hearing more about your new story
I've been in those exact predicaments and it sucks majorly...especially the moment you realize, "Wow...this is crap."
I really tend to like books that are set in modern day. I enjoy when characters make (pop)cultural references because it makes them more real to me. As far as fantasy or not, it doesn't matter. I enjoy both...it helps if the story has some romance, but that doesn't have to be the focus.
my faves are romance/dramas just because thats my specialty i feel the same way kaleb like i wrote my novel a few months ago and it seemed amazing at the time, i still love the idea but i feel like i NEED to rewrite it to make it more better than it was before? idk good luck with your special project although i already know what book you're talking about :)
I like fantasy (T.A. Barron-style), sci-fi (Madeleine L'Engle), and lots of other stuff. But not vampires. I'm not a huge fan of the paranormal stuff either.
I enjoy ready Adventures and sci-fi action thrillers.
Part of the reason I started writing my #SecretProject 2 years ago. Finished draft 1 at 103 pages, then wrote draft 2 at 465 pages and then read through, didn't like the way it was written, grabbed a book off the shelf and used that as a template to re-write it, it's now 543 pages long with more development and as good as I could possibly make it.
Kinda sucks though, now I have to work on the sequel.
i love all types of genre - my favourites would have to be the vampire books by L.J smith and Stephanie Meyer. But i love books like the time travellers wife by Audrey and the notebook Nicholas Sparks (:
i love reading all sorts of books - mortal instruments to brave new world, geronimo stilton to shakespeare, harry potter to daphne dumaurier....and maaaany more :)
i've been on a vampire kick since 2008, haha. but i read a LOT of other stuff in between those sorts of books. i'm in the middle of the girl with the dragon tattoo, actually.
It's such a shock for me to say this, I am actually tired of anything that deals with Vampires/werewolves. Now it seems like it's the only thing people are writing about now. I want to see something with maybe a person who turns into a dragon, or maybe even a mermaid. Just something new. <3
Right now, I'm re-reading the entire Harry Potter series (Prisoner of Azkaban atm). :3 I love fantasy books the most because drifting away into a different world is the most fun. :3 I also love Stephen King's work and I still enjoy reading R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series. :)
I love books with romance. It could be all romance, or fantasy with some romance, but for whatever reason the romance in a book is what hooks me too it. Not saying that I don't read and love other books, but those tend to be my favorite.
Happens to me all the time. Good thing I'm not published. -_- I love pretty much anything. Does not matter when it was written, or who wrote it. I just pick it up, flip to any page and if it's good, I read it! I just love to read.

I heard some of it!!! It's amazing!!!
I used to be quite limited to books like Bran Hambric and the first parts of that Secret Project, but lately I've been reading an enjoying all these different types of books.
uglyfudge 1 year ago
I love all types of books really. As a rule I love fantasy and action, but more swords and sheilds and magic, rather than modern ones. At the moment I'm in love with Historical novels, specially Phillipa Gregory's Tudor Court novels
landiana24 1 year ago
i love reading fantasy books set in a historic time period or a alternate universe....i guess adventure is more my thing too :))) i i like books set in modern time periods too though :D
Krazytangerines97 1 year ago

I dont usually like books that too realistic.

i love all books, but stuff that has some level of fantasy/paranormal quality to it tends to be my favourite
wertyo102 1 year ago
really i love all types of books, and the types i like seem to change every month, but my favorite as of now probably would be either fantasy or horror stories. Also, I am a history nerd so i will always love non-fiction stories about not-so-famous or famous people's lives, like from WWII and stuff. :D
wolfbane8090 1 year ago
It it is fantasy, I love it. I am 20 (almost 21) and I still read books like The Secrets of Droon by Tony Abbott because it takes place in a magical world full of adventure. The books are for second graders. Tamora Pierce has to be one of my favorite authors, again lots of magic and adventure. Which is also why I like the Percy Jackson books and your books, Kaleb. Fantasy with magic and adventure.

As a writer, I think the most interesting of Kaleb's videos to me are the ones like this. Who are some other writers that have youtube and twitter?
innocentBystander19 1 year ago

John Green's Looking For Alaska is one of my all time favorite books. It changed a lot of my perspective on some things.
Honestly it doesn't really matter to me what I read. The most important thing about a book, to me, is the characters. Their perspectives, how they change, how they change others, how they don't change, and how well they come alive. Whenever I read a book I don't want the outside world. Books are an escape. I want the characters to become alive. Have realistic personalities.
Dovasary08 1 year ago
I'm not really into paranormal unless written really well. I like adventure and futuristic books too.
I really can't deny that I've lost count of how many harlequin romance novels I own. That's more of a guilty pleasure because they're just quick light reads with mostly fluff and a small plot that just leaves a bit of happiness when it's done.
I like books based on fairy tales too. Magic is also an element I like in books. Historical Romance is also nice.
If it sounds interesting I'll read it.

i love very real stories to me. like it could have happened and characters that have a very strong bond. i know they are very girl books, but kaleb if you ever get the chance, you should read The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. lots of symbolism and meaning behind things the characters do. sometimes her characters scream at me, and i love them, and canNOT put her books down.

I've enjoyed books from every single genre there is. Mostly though, I'm into books where there's a touch of fantasy/sci-fi mixed in with the real world (Mortal Instruments, Curse Workers, GONE series, Inkheart trilogy, etc.) HP is amazing, Twilight's okay, if not a little mediocre in the actual writing.
I also really, really, REALLY love books written by Jodi Picoult! I have yet to read a book by her that I haven't liked. <3
Oh, and I enjoy Shakespeare, too...sometimes. hehe
